11  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Re: Two Elizabethan Gowns for the 2009 Renfaire Season. (Image Obese) on: September 12, 2009 11:16:10 AM
I wonder if they have events like that up here in the Northwest?  I would so love to go and maybe get involved!

OT, I know, but there are several renaissance faires in the Northwest. I'm not sure where you are, but there's a list of faires by state here: http://www.renfaire.com/Sites/index.html

13  COOKING / Dessert / Re: HALO cake? is this the right place? on: October 15, 2007 08:31:58 PM
My husband's a huge HALO fan, and the minute I mentioned this to him, he started making suggestions so fast that I couldn't keep up.

"If you wanted the bride to really co-ordinate with the spartan, but didn't want to use Cortana, you could try watching some of the screen shots from the Earth City level of Halo 2, When Sgt. Johnson delivers the scorpion tank. The level title is "Ladies like armor plating" There are female Marines ! you could try doing their jumpsuits in black, with red helmet and body plating, It would lend itself well to the spartan, and since the Spartan's armor is more red than black, the Marine's armor would be more black than red so they would coordinate each other. " (I told you he was a fan, lol)

he also suggested using the covenant and forerunner glyphs to decorate the cakes or cupcakes
