2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Blue/white lapghan on: June 01, 2012 05:06:39 PM
I found this great pattern on Ravelry recently and was inspired by some of my friend's blanket projects, so I had to make one for myself! Here is the link to the project: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ocean-tranquility-afghan

Here is my version:

And an action shot with the toddler...

The pattern worked up really nicely and it was easy to remember too. The wool was practically free too, as I was given the blue wool and half of the white so just needed to buy one more ball!

So cute!! And inspiring- I have a bunch of acrylic in random colours which I have been saving for such a project!

Thanks guys Smiley I will probably end up making her a hat and booties- though I have a number of preggy friends due all around the same time, so will be crocheting up a storm this winter!

This pattern wasn't hard (once i translated it), though at one point I had to undo 3 rows of crochet as my brain was turned off! I really should have done an extra row of stars but very nearly ran out of wool and I didn't want to buy any more!
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Baby blanket on: February 12, 2012 06:15:46 PM
So my sil is having another baby and so I thought I'd use my new-found love of crochet to make her something!

I used slightly less than one skein of Patons Big Baby 4 ply in white (which I accidently bought online thinking it was a different colour for another project...) and I love how it turned out. Its really soft, stretchy and perfect for a newborn.
I used this pattern off ravelry http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/diamond-flower-baby-blanket though it was all in UK terms so I had to translate it first.

Wow that's awesome! Great job! I might have to try making one of those myself as my son would love it!

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crochet Mary Janes (and baby booties) on: June 30, 2011 02:12:41 PM
I have just started crocheting and here is my first project!  Grin

I used the pattern on here: http://thelittlehousebythesea.wordpress.com/2009/09/03/free-pattern-for-mary-jane-slippers/ although they are a little big but still wearable.

I also made some baby booties

I wish I had started crocheting earlier as I am really enjoying it! Now on to the next project!!
