1  Cheytown Dress Variation in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by Fostermamas on: March 19, 2008 09:33:59 PM
We need all the Cheytown Tute dresses in one place cause every time I see what someone else has done with the idea I want to try it too!

I went digging in my closet for a button down shirt to use and decided on one of my favorite summer shirts. I might regret it later since it was THE only button up shirt in my closet. Here's a pic of the shirt before.

I had some problems along the way (my shirt didn't have a back yoke) so I modified until I found something that worked. The ribbon tie halter was a happy accident because I messed the original up the first time. I paired it with some bows I made last week with the same ribbon.

2  Scandi style Mei Tai in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by Fostermamas on: March 18, 2008 11:01:05 PM
So this past weekend DP and I set up the office with one desk for computer work and one desk for all my crafty projects! I even made myself an "inbox" for all my unfinished projects. By golly they're actually getting done now.

I've been wanting to sew a new carrier for my youngest foster son and finally have the space to start a project and be able to leave it and come back to it.

I used black cord for the straps and body and an old scrap of a Marimekko fabric that I found in a Crate & Barrel outlet years ago. I did a wool felt applique on the back side to pretty it up and now it's my favorite part. Finally all those felt food scraps are coming in handy.
