1021  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: My Scrabble Tile Pendant on: January 21, 2009 11:01:29 AM
Very nice and elegant !  Smiley Could you tell me what is 3D glaze ? Is that like that stamping powder you melt with a heat gun or some other type fo varnish ?
I think 3D glaze is a new version of the Diamond Glaze. It creates a clear glass like dome on whatever you apply it to. It's supposed to be clearer and have less bubbles, I think.

Yup! It's called 3D Crystal Lacquer. I haven't used Diamond Glaze, but the 3D stuff is pretty clear and it does work in very thin layers on uneven surfaces without running.

I have been wanting to do this for awhile. I managed to pick up two wayward scrabble tiles somewhere. I love the results! I am going to have to buy a bunch of these now! I used 3D glaze to make it.

C & C always welcome!

1027  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: Awesome Jewelry my friend makes! *lots of pics but in links sorry* on: January 15, 2009 08:42:48 AM
K, here's a little tip for her. I don't think selling directly from a blog is the way to go. She needs to set up an Etsy account. It's has huge volumes of traffic so her jewelery can be seen. www.etsy.com is the address, its quick and easy, and free to set up an account. It does cost a small amount $0.20 to list each item, but the fee is worth the increase in traffic. I think she should list her jewelry on Etsy, but keep blogging about it to increase traffic even more. Just a few tips from personal experience. Also, it might be better to move this post to the right board to get more advice. There is a Crafty business board. There is even a separate board for Etsy advice.

I love that resin flower!  I have been wanting to play with resin forever!

Careful! Once you start, it's addicting and you want to encase everything in resin!  Grin
