41  Re: 2013 Annual DeStash-Along in Craftalongs by ehinders on: February 14, 2013 08:33:15 AM
I made progress on my stash organizing on Monday when we had a snow day. Although, looking at the pictures, I'm not sure it translates! Wink

the before photos are here.

bascially, everything is now sorted into piles of like stuff, the floor got completely cleared off, a rug rolled out and totes of stuff to put away moved in. Now I have to go through each pile of like items, sort out stuff to give away, throw, and save. Then I need to decide where to put everything away neatly! whew! still got a long way to go!  Shocked

42  Men's tie into a pretty flower in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ehinders on: February 08, 2013 01:21:49 PM
I have been hoarding saving this men's tie from a thrift store for awhile. I saw somewhere on-line that someone made flowers out of them and decided to give it a go.

The flower is about 7 inches across at its widest point. I can't decide if I'm putting a pin back on it or making it into a hair fascinator. What do you guys think?

Made this project bag for the triple versus swap:

It turned out pretty good. Didn't really use a pattern, just rough cut around a bag I liked the shape of. Tardis is freezer paper stenciled on.

Tardis project bag:

thread catcher:

leggings for Maddy:

It was nice to actually start using some of the massive amounts of stretch knit I have stored up for some reason. Though it makes me wish I had a serger!

texscrapper, I too have a fabric problem.  Embarrassed

The veggies are great!  Does your daughter have a wee-kitchen for them to be cooked in??
Yup. We made one out of an old entertainment center:

I must have only posted it in last year's 50 projects thread. There's a few more pics there.

Sharalee-I'm jealous of your whole package, but I especially love those peacock coasters. Nice work momof2!

4. Thread catcher:

5. Leggings for Maddy:

I've been on a sewing kick lately. I just wish I could find the bobbin case to my good machine. I remember why I hated the old one!

I received from texscrapper today and I was super spoiled!

Yea! Reusable paper towels in my kitchen colors. Amazing. I have wanted these forever. Thank you so much!

Just did two projects with some of the fabric that I recently added to my stash from the thrift store:
a circle scarf:

and a blanket:

The plaid fabric is a wool blend and the backing is fleece. All bought at the thrift store. It felt pretty good to use that fabric right away. I used up all of the plaid. I still have about 1.5 yds of the fleece, but I plan on using it for backing for some baby blankets.

Another one done! (well almost... I should probably topstich the whole thing) With the same fabric I made my circle scarf from:

a blanket! I sewed together this nice wool plaid and some fleece:

I also have two swap projects done that I just sent out. I will post pics when they are received. Smiley
