181  Vintage Hankie turned cosmetic zippered pouch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by ehinders on: November 11, 2008 02:26:01 PM
I followed a fellow craftster tut on making a lined zipper pouch. Here's tut:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=22875.0
I had to unpick a few seams and do them over, but the result was awesome! I used a vintage hankie from the thrift store. I thought the ships embroidered on it were adorable and knew it needed to become something. Enter the zipper pouch! I used blue cotton for the lining. It turned out great (minus the swearing part while constructing!)  Wink Enough rambling, on to pics!

C & C always welcome!

182  Twilight Replica Book in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by ehinders on: November 11, 2008 08:25:17 AM
I guess this counts as a trinket right? I recently found some small wooden books at a thrift store. I thought they were perfect for making mini replicas of my latest favorite book (soon to be released movie!) Twilight. I painted the book and decoupaged an image of the book on it. It turned out pretty cute, I thought!

Thanks for looking!
C & C always welcome!  Cheesy

183  Vintage Pillowcase into tote/purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ehinders on: November 03, 2008 08:13:57 AM
I made this tote/purse awhile ago out of a vintage pillowcase and green and white gingham fabric I had laying around. The lace is original to the pillowcase. I kinda liked how it looked, so I left it on there.

Inside:

I thought it would make a great green shopping bag as well as a purse.

Comments and constructive criticism always welcome.

184  wine accessories and pinup paperweight in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by ehinders on: November 03, 2008 08:01:34 AM
I love me some wine!  Grin I made some wine accessories awhile ago and thought I would share pics!

Wine Bottle cover:

Wine Glass Charms:

Hubby and I are currently attempting to make wine out of wild grapes that were growing on my parents land. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

*Edit*
I am adding this paperweight in this post too. Not sure where else it would go. I used a candle plate and resin and a pinup pic to make the paperweight. I am thinking about making more. This one turned out really neat!

Comments and constructive criticism welcome.

185  Key to Peace and Love & Team Edward! (Multiple Pics) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by ehinders on: October 31, 2008 10:18:55 AM
This is my most recent two. I also did one with an owl but forgot to take pics of it before it sold.  Embarrassed It was really cute too! Anywho, here they are:

1st one: I call this one the key to peace and love!

2nd one: This one is semi-inspired by the Twilight series Bella bracelet, but just the Edward part! (Go Team Edward!)  Kiss

P.S. Sorry for the blurry and multiple pics! I had to use my Mom's camera and I could not get it to cooperate!

Comments and constructive criticism always welcome!

I had this cute brown and white polka dot fabric in my stash and finally made it into stuff.

First, a Hobo style purse:

Inside:

I also make a zippered make-up bag. I'm still a little shaky on using zippers, but not too shabby:

Closeup of fun zipper pull I made:

187  Jewelry Overload! (Pic overload too!) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by ehinders on: April 25, 2008 05:58:12 PM
I've been making jewelry like a mad woman lately.

Some resin stuff:

I call this one leaves on the water:

Copper and Bead Bracelet:

I call this cell phone charm "Why is the rum gone?""

Pink Flamingo necklace:

I've made jewelry before but this is my first adventure with resin. The leaf one did get bubbles in it, but I thought it was fitting with the floating leaf in water thing. What do you guys think?

188  Re: Input on my wedding ideas (image heavy) in Weddings and Bridal Showers by ehinders on: April 02, 2008 03:53:05 PM
Yay! Finally feel like I'm getting things accomplished! Okay, so here are a bunch of pics of decorations and stuff so far.

Mock Table setup:

Centerpiece Closeup:

Closeup of insulators: (these are old fashioned glass insulators that were used on old telephone wires) I am planning on painting the wood blocks white and drilling a hole so that the insulators will sit in there  upside down without tipping over.

Buckets for the church pews:

And finally a basket for cards: (if you look closely it is sitting on a cute table I plan to use somewhere also)

Sorry for the picture overload, I just got excited about everything!! Smiley

Okay, so I've been messing with invites a bunch more and finally came up with one that I really like. I stole some ideas from Matuta's designs. (Thanks for the help! Grin) Don't put too much stock in the colors. I noticed that when I saved the image as a JPEG it changed the colors a little. I finally got them all to match even though it doesn't really look like it!  Wink

I got this bottle at Walmart. It's distributed by Duncan (the paint people) Here's what it looks like:

I just put glue on the paper in between it and the rock. I might go back and seal it on the back when I'm done with all of them. But that depends on how long it takes me to make enough!  Wink
