111  Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Round 56 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by ehinders on: March 31, 2010 03:00:48 PM
I received from pixieval today. I got two of the cutest baby hats and some extra yellow yarn to use on my baby blanket. Yea!!
Hats:

sorry, color is a little off in this pic. The one with the ears is more minty green and the other one is soft baby blue.

Here's my extra yarn:

Thanks so much pixieval! I love everything (especially the hat with the ears!) Wink

112  Mermaid and Flower Bookmarks in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by ehinders on: March 29, 2010 02:20:20 PM
I made a couple of bookmarks recently with some blanks I had laying around for awhile.
First I made an ocean themed one with a mermaid blank I had:

Then I made a copper one. The pendant has black and blue flowers on it, so I added a blue beads.

I really like the wavy line on the copper one. What do you think?
C & C always welcome!

113  Vintage Nautical Tin Memo Board in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by ehinders on: March 29, 2010 02:11:24 PM
I guess this board is the place for this project (or at least as good as any). I made a magnetic memo board out of a vintage tin tray. The tray is nautical themed, so I decided to use cotton rope to make a hanger and I covered buttons with a white and blue striped ticking to make matching magnets.

Close-up of the knotted rope details:

Magnets at work:

I have stacks and stack of these vintage tin trays (all different themes and colors). I was thinking about doing more of them. What do you think?

114  Newest Steampunk Piece in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by ehinders on: March 29, 2010 01:49:38 PM
This is my newest steampunk creation. I made the base out of a silver plated napkin ring. I cut a part off the ring and pounded it flat. Then I hand-stamped the word "Faith" on it. I added some gears and watch movements and a chain.  For reference, the pendant is about 2 inches long.

C & C always welcome!

119  New Steampunk Pieces in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by ehinders on: March 08, 2010 01:58:22 PM
I've been trying my hand at some steampunk pieces lately. Here's what I have finished so far:

First, I used an acrylic chandelier crystal for a base and added watch movements, gears and a leftover piece from a vintage spoon handle.

Second, I used a vintage spoon head as a base, flattened it out with a hammer, hand-stamped it and added a watch movement and gears.

Whadya think? C and C always welcome!
