I was thinking of posting something like the following at the very top of my gallery, and updating it every Monday morning:
personA: rec'd fabrics, sent block, rec'd block
personB: rec'd fabrics
personC: rec'd fabrics, sent block
personD: --- (haven't rec'd fabrics)
personE: rec'd fabrics, sent block
personF: rec'd fabrics, rec'd block
That way, it's right there for all to see ... easy for me to update ... and easy for the mods to see that I edited it at least every Monday.
What do you think?
I think that's a fantastic idea. Easy for you, easy for us. I think this would work well, especially for the people who are in more than 1 group.
As mentioned before, those who are spreadsheet addicted like I am (I'm a business student, I live for spreadsheets
) are encouraged to keep public sheets or records so that they know exactly what's coming in and out. It's really easy to forget to send a PM to the right person when you've got fabric and blocks coming in every day.
From an organizational point of view, it can be tough to keep track of all the PMs. There are 264 packages in each group alone! Sending PM's to the person who you receive from and the organizer is courteous and still important, but I think it's also great for everyone to keep track of their stuff. The organizers will have a master spreadsheet posted on the front page (group 1 is posted already, the others are coming soon!) where everyone's information will be compiled. Keep in mind that it may take a few days for the information to get from the inbox to the master spreadsheet, since there are so many packages and people sending out on different days.
Anyway...great ideas, everyone. Keep them coming!
This is a fantastic idea. It would be so helpful to us organizers to be able to double check! It does get hard to keep track of so many packages sometimes!
