OMG that quilt looks awesome! how many peices did you put in your packages

I only had 7different fabrics and included 6 in each package.  Some people used all of it but some only used three.  Thanks!  I made a couple blocks but the rest were made by fellow swap participants in rounds 1-2.  I have been very happy with how my lap quilts from this swap have turned out, there have been some great quilters and I know that will continue in this round! Grin

1boy1girl1kitty2:  I would put one of each color (one red, green, blue, etc.) in so you have a wider variety of colors in the final quilt.  Do you remember my batik quilt from round 1-2?  That is what I did and I like the way it turned out.  I am excited about your batiks, I love them!
Here is what mine turned out like:  http://audreypawdrey.blogspot.com/2008/07/craftster-lap-quilt-swap-top-is-pieced.html  It is really bright...

I will probably sending out after Thanksgiving.  I need more fabric for the second group and I can not make up my mind.  It is going to be for a baby quilt, and I think I am going to try to use some of my stash.  I have been cleaning, getting ready for in-law visits and found 4 yards of two fun colored bright prints-so I think I want to use those but I haven't decided what to match them with.

Southernflower, I love the fabrics you chose!  They are beautiful. Grin

I love the fabric everyone is choosing.  I am in love with both rita's choices as well as Johns!  They BOTH have excellent eyes in my book. Wink  I am going to pack up a few tonight and send some out.  I will see how long it takes.

I was thinking of posting something like the following at the very top of my gallery, and updating it every Monday morning:

personA: rec'd fabrics, sent block, rec'd block
personB: rec'd fabrics
personC: rec'd fabrics, sent block
personD: --- (haven't rec'd fabrics)
personE: rec'd fabrics, sent block
personF: rec'd fabrics, rec'd block
etc....

That way, it's right there for all to see ... easy for me to update ... and easy for the mods to see that I edited it at least every Monday.

What do you think?

I think that's a fantastic idea. Easy for you, easy for us. I think this would work well, especially for the people who are in more than 1 group.
As mentioned before, those who are spreadsheet addicted like I am (I'm a business student, I live for spreadsheets  Lips sealed) are encouraged to keep public sheets or records so that they know exactly what's coming in and out. It's really easy to forget to send a PM to the right person when you've got fabric and blocks coming in every day.
From an organizational point of view, it can be tough to keep track of all the PMs. There are 264 packages in each group alone! Sending PM's to the person who you receive from and the organizer is courteous and still important, but I think it's also great for everyone to keep track of their stuff. The organizers will have a master spreadsheet posted on the front page (group 1 is posted already, the others are coming soon!) where everyone's information will be compiled. Keep in mind that it may take a few days for the information to get from the inbox to the master spreadsheet, since there are so many packages and people sending out on different days.
Anyway...great ideas, everyone. Keep them coming!

This is a fantastic idea.  It would be so helpful to us organizers to be able to double check!  It does get hard to keep track of so many packages sometimes!

I have sent all the information to everyone in group 2!  So if you have not received anything, please let me know!

I love your spreadsheet kaishabackwards!  I think it is a great idea if we all create our own to share as well as the master one.

I am excited we are about to begin!  Thanks to everyone who signed up for an extra group to help us along.  I am going to look through my fabric tonight to find something for my second group.  I think I will make a baby quilt with my second groups fabrics.  Three of my co-workers are having children in the spring.

It really does go by a lot quicker than you think it will!  I did two swaps last time and it was perfect for me.  One group did go by too quickly.

I love your fabric gordongirl!  That will be so pretty when it is done. Smiley

We are almost there!  I am going to cut my fabric up tonight and then see what I can send for my second group.    I can't wait to get started!
