1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Looking for pleated jeans pattern! Help? on: July 08, 2010 10:55:47 PM
Hi  Wink

I'm looking for a pattern similar to these (from the Gap):

http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=26639&vid=1&pid=705563

Slouchy, pleated at the hip, boyfriend fit

Any suggestions? Thank you!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Colorful, quickie skirt!! on: November 21, 2009 02:08:27 PM
It's been a while since I got to sit down and make something for myself (besides the quilt I needed for school) so when my roommate forced me to go to the Woodie Awards I thought I'd take the opportunity.  Probably not my best work (in fact it's actually pretty wonky) but I did it really quickly the night before. I'm in love with the fabric!

I need better pictures soon! I've only got one picture and it's from my cell. It's not QUITE so bad as it looks here.

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Hand Sewing Jean Hole on: October 02, 2009 03:54:11 PM
Hi there! Quick question...

My friend dropped off a pair of jeans that I'd offered to fix. There's a hole in the crotch area that normally I was just use an iron on denim patch for. However it's just a BIT too big to patch entirely. What's the best hand sewing stitch to use to close it a bit more so that I can use the patch?

Thank you so much!

Rachael
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / College swap? on: July 19, 2009 12:10:58 PM
I'm sure a lot of us are starting/in college. I can't organize... but I think it'd be fun to do a swap for all things college. Dorm stuff, school supplies, etc etc... Of course, I imagine it's a little late if we want to get it done before the start of Fall Semester, but I think it'd still be fun!  Cheesy Any takers?!

P.S. What college do you (will you) attend?
5  UNITED STATES / New Jersey / DREW UNIVERSITY on: May 24, 2009 06:27:34 PM
Well hi  Grin

I'm just about ready to ship myself off to Drew University in Madison, NJ in four months. Does anyone live locally/go to school there/have any suggestions?
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Black Lace Classic Prom Dress on: May 12, 2009 07:52:13 PM
Allo!  Grin Thankfully, prom is finally done! Between working full time, going to school, finals, etc... the quality is definitely lacking. But it's what I wanted and I had fun making it. Way more fun than last years (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=241392.msg2659590#msg2659590) though I think more people liked that one. Oh well! What can you do?

Off-hand I can't quite remember what the pattern is, but it's a Vogue, with a few alterations for size and fabric weight.

I apologize in advance for the sh*tty pictures!

Just for fun:

Prom was shaping up to be a bit icky when my date bailed last minute, my boyfriend was too old to go, after prom plans fell to pieces and limo prices sky rocketed... Thankfully, my best friend Lesley jumped in to save the day as a perfect date and supplier of our mode of transportation: our very own short bus.

Any questions, comments, or criticisms are more than welcome!

Love love love!  Kiss

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Please please please help me before I cry on: December 21, 2008 11:56:06 AM
Ohhhh PMS. And prom dresses. Both horrible things.

I've been to prom the last four years and my grandparents haven't gotten to see my dresses yet. I'm trying really hard to get my dress finished by January 5th when they leave for Florida.

So... it's my first time making my own pattern. Can anyone offer help with my mock up?Huh

The actual dress is black, this fabric is just left over from last year's dress. The bra cups are where the gathered, overlapping chest pieces will go. Does anyone have a better idea on how to do them? It's not working out well for me!

Another view:

Where I need the most help!
Sorry about the back bra shot! I had to leave it on to pin the straps to, otherwise they don't stay flat. How do I make them do that on their own???

The fabric for the actual dress (though the part you see in the pictures will just be black satin)

Thanks so much!!

Happy holidays!
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Very Proud of My Momma- Come Praise!! =D on: December 01, 2008 01:42:16 PM
My mom is a very busy woman. But she recently took some time to start making over her house a bit. There's still a way to go... but here's what she's done so far:

The kitchen nook:

She did the curtains, her and my dad painted and stained the table and chairs, she covered the seat cushions, and of course...arranged the roses!  Smiley

Sewed a slip cushion for the couch:

Thoughts??  Cheesy

9  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Crafting with/for very sick children! on: October 26, 2008 02:23:14 PM
I volunteer at a pediatric hospital with kids (baby-18) at all different levels of illness. I'd like some craft ideas to do with them.

Or even just activity suggestions!

I'll get more specific when I know the ages/genders of the people I am working with.

Thanks a lot!!
10  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Fuzzy lined, Funky Slippers- How to? on: October 15, 2008 08:56:03 PM
I LOVEEEE these slippers and I think with some funky fabrics they'd be adorable Christmas gifts when paired with some homemade soaps/etc.

These, in particular, are from Restoration Hardware and look pretty simple. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks very much!

Merry crafting!  Cheesy
