111  Re: Winter Postcard Swap ( Closed, Send Out Dec 7 ) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by FicklePegasus on: November 29, 2007 08:28:35 AM
I thought it'd be fun to post a teaser pic of the postcard I've completed.  I'm not saying who it's for.  Grin  (Yeah, maybe it's silly but I'm in a silly mood)

113  Re: Wheel of Time series swap? in New Swap Theme Ideas by FicklePegasus on: November 21, 2007 02:22:03 PM

One example of what can be done.  C'mon!  I looked it up and I know several people were interested in this in 2005(?) Some of you must still be around!

114  Re: My fist pattern- Cat/Doll Cloak (3 pics) in Crochet: Completed Projects by FicklePegasus on: November 21, 2007 08:47:31 AM
Thank you all for the compliments.   Grin

At least your kitties sat and waited for you to take the pictures! My kitty would never ever ever let me do that to him. And if i could crochet, I would be asking for the pattern.
Lizard is too lazy to do anything but glare at me.  Spoiler was only still long enough for 1 pic at a time.  lol  The pattern is very basic, if you ever learn to crochet, it should be super simple to do.

Ahw how cute if I may ask what is her name? I love the cloak I would so make that for my Jack Russell puppy. We had a cat like Lizard and her name was Pumpkin.
Spoiler is the black one and Lizard is the Tortie.  I'll edit and post the pattern, it's really basic and should be easy to adjust the size for a larger animal.  Just remember to put ear holes!

That, however, made me nearly piss my pants.  I don't know why Grin
Probably from being a cat owner who loves putting things on her cats knowing full well that they arnt going to like it.
I have a couple more pics w/the kitties showing off my crochet talent lol

They weren't happy that time either.

115  My fist pattern- Cat/Doll Cloak (3 pics) *Pattern Included* in Crochet: Completed Projects by FicklePegasus on: November 20, 2007 06:40:51 PM
My hubby and I have joked about getting a purple cloak for our younger cat. (She's named after the girl next to Batgirl in my avatar) I made this so Spoiler could dress up for Halloween, but I didn't think about her giant bat-like ears.  Oh well, it works just as well on a doll.

Spoiler isn't thrilled with it

I tried putting it on her sister, Lizard.  She didn't like it either.

This is the first time I've made up my own pattern and I think it turned out pretty good. If you'd like the pattern, I do have it written down somewhere.

Here is the pattern, but beware!  This is my first, it may only make sense to me  Undecided

Starting with the cape-
1)  CH 20
2)  DC in 3rd CH from hook. DC in each to end.  CH 2 Turn (18 DC)
3)  DC 2x in first DC.  DC in each to end.  2 DC in end. CH 2 Turn (20 DC)
4)  DC 2x in first. DC to end. 2 DC in last. CH 2. Turn.  (22 DC)
5)  DC 2x in first. DC to end. 2 in last. CH 2. Turn (24 DC)
6-8)  DC in each to end. CH2. Turn. (24 DC)
9)  DC 2x in first. DC to end. 2 DC in last. CH 2. Turn (26 DC)
10-21) Repeat 5-7 (26 DC)
22) SC along all sides.

Hood-

1)  CH 20
2-9)  DC in 3rd from hook. DC accross. (18 DC)
10)  Fold in half, rt side together. Slipstitch along one side. Turn right side out.

Attaching hood and ties-

CH 20 then slipstitch bottom of hood to top of cloak.  CH 20.  (The CH 20 are the ties)

116  Glow in the Dark--dragon, dice, and more in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by FicklePegasus on: November 20, 2007 06:24:49 PM
These are my first attempts at poly.  I saw the glow in the dark Fimo and had to get it. Grin

The dragon is my fav from the batch.  I forgot to put wings on him, but I've come up with a couple ideas to fix that.  I'll update when I'm finished with him.

This is Lanfear's sigil/symbol from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series.
Alone-

On top of the image I modeled it after

I'm a D&D geek, so I made some dice.

The 4sider, ice cream cone and a flower.

I ended up glazing and painting the dice.  I gave most of the rest to my MIL to play with her beading and jewelry projects.

The dragon is mine lol

118  3 Sweaters and a Blanket (image heavy) in Crochet: Completed Projects by FicklePegasus on: November 03, 2007 08:31:10 AM
The sweaters were all from patterns in Crochet for Tots.

This was given to a friend in my mom's knitting group worried that she wouldn't have any crocheted items for her baby.

This was also a gift for a friend

This was given to a co-worker

A couple friends of mine were expecting their 1st child and they're Tigger fanatics, so I made this.  So many people were asking about the "Halloween" blanket, I ended up sewing a Tigger patch on it. lol
