thanks for such a great tutorial! it was so quick and easy to make this purse. although I did mess up the handles - don't look too closely. they'll be right on the next one. I didn't see that you sew the scrap fabric on the right side of the fabric. whoops.

aww, he is very cute!
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Knitty's Trellis and Bev's Baby Seed Cap **Three pictures** on: May 06, 2006 11:06:48 AM
they're both really lovely. As for the hat - the whiskers say cat, but the ears say dog. It doesn't matter - it's super cute!

erincatherine - my Becca is about 11 lbs, and I followed the pattern exactly. You may want to add another round or two of increases. It will still be a quick knit. I made mine in just a few days.

My sister's cat is named Desmond too!

I thought I'd share my kitty pi too. I made this for my cat about 2 months ago, and she absolutely loves it. She sleeps in it day and night - even when the weather is warm. I used a bulky wool - Gjestal Naturgarn (sp?).

Her eyes are only scary like that in photos, by the way.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Need a sub for Rowan calmer... on: April 30, 2006 12:36:14 PM
I think I read somewhere once that TLC Cotton Plus can be an inexpensive sub. for Rowan Calmer. I've never used either though.  Undecided

They're lovely! I like your color choices better than the original.
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Quick!! Who knows of a pattern for a mini handbag?? on: March 31, 2006 03:37:49 PM
here's a tiny felted bag in Noro Kureyon:

or what about the Sophie purse from magknits?

http://www.magknits.com/warm04/patterns/sophie.htm

you only need ~220 yds of worsted wt. woo - they used Cascade 220.

how about the little yellow one in this pattern:

there are also a lot of purse patterns on www.knittingpattern central.com. go to "bags totes and purses" in the free pattern directory.

good luck!  Grin

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: ISO Bulky Cotton yarn. . .suggestions? on: March 25, 2006 12:30:07 PM
I don't know that I've ever seen bulky or super-bulky cotton yarn - it would be so heavy! Your best option may be to just work with 2-3 strands of a worsted weight cotton.
