1  A Note Tablet Portfolio in Completed Projects by little me on: August 21, 2013 04:06:57 PM
I made a portfolio recently for a job interview I had. I think it came out pretty good with some minor flaws that I have to work out for next time. You can read about it here: http://faithepp.blogspot.com/2013/08/a-note-tablet-portfolio.html

2  A Bag Pouch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by little me on: August 21, 2013 03:38:27 PM
Something I made couple of days ago - it's the fanny pack concept, but not. It just big enough to hold my pursellet, phone and camera. You can read more about it here: http://faithepp.blogspot.com/2013/08/a-bag-pouch.html

3  CD Visor Holder in Completed Projects by little me on: January 11, 2013 08:49:51 AM
I got some new CD's for Christmas and thought to make a visor holder. I didn't want "straight" pockets, so I made mine semi-circular.

You can read more about this on my blog: http://faithepp.blogspot.com/2013/01/cd-visor-holder.html

Thank you!

4  Re: plain denim messenger bag beautifying? in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions by little me on: May 06, 2012 08:20:50 AM
This might be too late, but I have done applique cutouts, fused them, and zig zagged the edges for extra insurance and they've come out really nice. Take a look at this pic of a bag I made for my daughter - the trick is to leave about a 1/8" border between the image and your cut (that way, you don't have to be so precise in your cuts):

5  A New Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by little me on: April 02, 2012 08:16:40 AM
For several years now when spring arrives, I make myself a new bag. This year, I looked at my old bags for inspiration and this is what I came up with:
I really like the contrast between the black with the red and the print I used just fit where it should. My only problem is that the black fabric attracts lint - anyone know how to avoid that? Rubbing a dryer sheet or putting it damp in the dryer didn't work. I hate walking around with lint on my bag.

I even made a matchy pursellet:

This is the inspiration I used. I made this bag years before I got into designing and I realized that I really like this. The printed part was a fabric place mat and the solid part came from a woman's gaucho pants - all from a thrift store.

6  A New Scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by little me on: March 13, 2012 07:55:42 PM
Even tho the cold season is ending (trying to at least over here), I needed a new scarf so I whipped this out in about 3 evenings. I used a #19 needle with a #4 and #5 yarn.

Here is a close up of the stitches:

I knitted (garter stitch) with both at the same time alternating between the 2 yarns.

It's very soft and warm, I like the wispyness of the orange yarn. What do you think?

7  Sewing Machine Cover in Completed Projects by little me on: February 12, 2012 07:00:11 PM
**Not sure where this fit, so I put it here**

My sewing machine lives in a cold basement. When being serviced recently, it was recommended that I cover my machine when not in use. I decided to make a lazy patch work cover. Basically, I measured my machine and cut out the dimensions from muslin. To try it for fit, I sewed it together and tried it on and it was a pretty good fit. I ripped out the stitches, ironed on some fusible web and went to town with all my scraps (I can tell you what I made from each of those pieces). Each piece was randomly placed, the only thing that I planned was measuring and cutting pieces to fit, like a jig saw puzzle. I zig zagged around EACH patch - even if the neighbor patch had stitched it. For the lining, I took some brown fabric, spray glued on some insul-brite and quilted it on. I love how it came out and it fits real well.

8  Origami Nativity in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by little me on: January 04, 2012 01:39:33 PM

My friend always gives me something handcrafted, and this year, she found a book on origami and made this. She said that there was no Joseph, so she modified Mary and added a staff. I think this is pretty good and plan to put this out every Christmas.

10  Homemade Glycerin Soap in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by little me on: July 31, 2011 09:14:04 AM
I made my own soap using the glycerin method. I followed http://www.marthastewart.com/335074/fruit-and-herb-soaps-how-to (watch the video 1st if you haven't seen this technique). This is my result:

The dark things are mushed up lavender flowers - I added lemon essential oil. Next time, I'll include un mushed lavender flowers, so people can tell what's in it. I used the soap last night & it works well (the lavender made my wash cloth dark, but it washed out). Here is another shot:

I'm so glad I didn't get rid of the soap molds I've been collecting. This so easy to do, I'm going to try this w/other herbs & fruit peels.
