I tracked the package I sent to April (gothchics) and it said "Delivered, March 09, 2009, 11:51 am, OLYMPIA, WA 98516"
so we should be hearing from her sometime soon. =]

4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Post your photography in here :D on: March 08, 2009 12:17:31 PM
Here are some pictures. They are different from the other ones. My friend and I took these on our way home from huntsville one day to keep from being too bored. I think they look pretty cool.

I love taking pictures like that, but what I like most about yours is how great they look displayed like that. If I were you I'd display them pretty much like that, but in groups of 3x3 grids Smiley

That's a nice idea. I was wondering how I could get them in my room in a cool way. I think I am going to do that. =]

I sent my package off yesterday. I feel bad for getting out of touch with you guys. When I signed up. my schedule was fine, but then soccer got in the way a bit so I could only work on the weekends and wednesday due to soccer every day besides those. I finished up the sunday before it was due and couldn't send it then of course, so I finally got it sent off Friday morning thanks to my wonderful mother.

Well I hope you guys had fun, and the cake was as delicious as it looked!  Wink

And I agree, Valentine's Day is highly commercialized now.  I think a lot of the American holidays we celebrate today are a joke - like Columbus Day... seriously?   Huh 500 yrs ago a man who never stepped foot in North America (or the Indies as he called it, haha) "discovered" a land that was settled by Native American's 12,000+ years ago and we celebrate this day still?!  Funny stuff.   And don't even get me started on the two terms of George W. we elected!  Sometimes this country can be so embarrassing.  Embarrassed

Do you know the holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine? The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.
In the 1969 revision of the Roman Catholic Calendar of Saints, the feastday of Saint Valentine on February 14 was removed from the General Roman Calendar and relegated to particular (local or even national) calendars for the following reason: "Though the memorial of Saint Valentine is ancient, it is left to particular calendars, since, apart from his name, nothing is known of Saint Valentine except that he was buried on the Via Flaminia on February 14.

So yes, there is no real point in V-day.
