1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Felt Cupcakes on: May 10, 2010 04:24:35 PM
I have been dying to make some felt cupcake magnets but I'm having a little trouble figuring out how to construct them. Would you blanket stitch the front part of the frosting to the cpucake then blanket stitch the front part of the cupcake to the paper wrapper then blanket stitch the whole thing together? or do you blanket stitch the frosting by itself then blanket stitch the cupcake then glue them to the wrapper and then blanket stitch the wrapper? Idk if that makes sense. I just dont know what to do... Any help? Thanx in advance.
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Blanket help.. on: March 19, 2010 12:34:10 PM
Not sure exactly where this goes. I thought 'quilt' but its not a quilt...so mods please feel free to move me wherever I belong. Thanx!

Anyways.. I'm making a baby blanket for my SIL baby shower. I got Ga Tech fleece fabric and wanted to just do a simple blanket out of it. I bought some blanket binding also. What stitch would be the best to use when sewing it on?
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / My first anything!!!!!!!!!! (1/50)- Cupcake t-shirt recon on: January 12, 2010 05:42:35 PM
Hey everybody! I am a serious long time lurker of this site. I absolutely love it!! What ya'll are about to see is my first recon...my first sewing of anything, besides a basic rectangular pin cushion and couple of stockings. I am so excited!

There is a craftalong going on right now.. 50 projects in 2010.. I have not posted on the thread b/c it moves so fast I'd get lost but I am giving it a go. I think it'll keep me motivated.

This is my number 1. I took some before pix on my camera but that was before I realized I couldn't send it to my computer...or maybe I can but can't figure it out..lol. I started off with a basic cupcake shirt that was too small, some pink with white polka dot fabric, and a too small pink long sleeved shirt. I was going to make it long sleeved but I just couldn't figure out the sleeves...so it stayed short sleeved. Well here it is!!

Front shot.

Side shot.

This is my angel face. Oops...I left a couple of threads on it. I should've also made is a little bit wider..she's got a little belly. I love it tho.

Well let me know what ya'll think!!

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / sewing clothes question on: February 22, 2009 01:40:44 PM
I really want to start sewing some clothes. I've never done this before so I'm kinda clueless. I want to start on shirts. I have a couple of questions..

1. What kind of fabric is the best to use for shirts? I know I can use thermal but what else?
2. What kind of needle?? Does each type of fabric need a diff needle? What size?
3. What kind of stitches do I use?

I think that's all, but if I'm missing a question or you want to gives ome advice or suggestions...please do.

Thank you!

Ok so I get the pell grant for college and I needed a book bag. So since they pay for it I bought a book bag at the school bookstore. It's plain black and (of course) has the school logo on it. I want to make it my own and def cover the logo but I have no ideas how.

Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?? Thanx in advance.
(If yall need to see a pic of it, I can prolly get on here for ya.)
