I bought this pattern on etsy a year or two ago but it appears the shop is no longer there and I cannot find the "Amigurumi Sweet Crochet Company" who sold this pattern. Therefore I sadly cannot post a link to where you can buy this pattern. But I am glad I got it when I did! I made this as a birthday present for my friend.
We are currently in lockdown on Okinawa until typhoon Chaba passes us. So I decided to make another hat. I used April Draven's convertible hat pattern. I had some half skeins and some partial skeins that I wanted to use. I had my fingers crossed that I would have enough of the purple to finish the hat. I had approx. 6 inches of purple left when I finished!! Talk about cutting it close! I was making this to use as a gift, but I really love it, so I may have to keep it! And I am obsessed with pom poms lately so, I added those too!
My daughter is leaving school soon and so I made this as a gift for her teacher. She goes to Japanese school so I thought this would be something cute the teacher would like. I used red heart yarn and safety eyes. I can't remember where I got the pattern from, if I do find it I will post a link to the pattern.
So I decided to make her a cupcake scarf to go with it. She wanted purple because that is now her favorite color.
The pattern was on a website for free just last week, but alas it is now for sale on etsy. Glad I copied it down and didn't just bookmark it!
The stitches used to make the scarf were simple, but made a really nice texture on the scarf and it isn't really stiff, whcih is great. Plus it has cupcakes. Who doesn't love cupcakes!
This “Powerball” recipe makes about 40 snack balls, and leftovers can be kept in the fridge or frozen with wax paper separating the layers.
1. Mix 1 cup peanut butter and 1 cup honey until smooth
2. Add 3 cups old-fashioned oats and 1/2 cup ground flaxseed
3. Add 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 cup nuts and dried fruit (any combintion of peanuts, sliced almonds, chopped walnuts, chopped pecans, raisins, dried cranberries, chopped dates, etc)
4. Roll into ping-pong sized balls and store in fridge or freezer
I used chopped raisins, mini choc chips & chopped almonds. They are SOOO YUMMY!
I read online to peel the egg while it is still warm, which was hard to do, but I kept dipping it in ice water as I peeled, that helped the shell come off more smoothly. Then after I smushed the egg in the mold I soaked the entire mold in ice water for 10 mins, then I just left it in the fridge overnight IN the mold. This morning I opened the mold and that is what it looked like. This was the 1st time mine turned out well. I think the longer it is cold in the mold (hee hee) the better it will look.
I was making myself some wrist warmers and my sons said they wanted some too. The M on the mario one isn't perfect, but he LOVES them!!!!
My older son is into heavy metal and pretty much only wears black tshirts, so he requested plain black.
When we got my daughter a leapster it was obvious that we needed to get her a pair of headphones. And by obvious I mean she would turn the volume all the way UP and even after repeated requests to turn it down, the volume always seemed to creep back up. I told my husband we should get her these nifty kid safe headphones. The volume can't go past a reasonable level even for kids' ears. Perfect, or so I thought! They work great, but had this flimsy foam around the ear parts, notice i said had. Needless to say within 2 days the foam was ripped off and she had deemed the headphones "broken". The husband was NOT happy with my purchase and I was not happy because she was now refusing to use them. Well, I decided to try crocheting her some covers for them. The crocheting part was easy, the fitting the covers to the earphones was the hard part. I had to unscrew 4 screws on each side and then tie the cover underneath and screw it back together. I am hoping it holds together because she is gonna need these things for the move. So here is my handy work. I used DMC thread in 2 colors and a tiny hook.
