but I didn't like the ruffle on the bottom, so instead I made pom poms. The yarn is some kind of Japanese tiny boucle wool blend that is super soft and slightly fancy looking.  

I found a really nice pattern on ravelry, but I was making this for my daughter's teacher and we are in Okinawa (not really cold) and the style of scarves here are mostly skinnier and not so bulky. So I modified the pattern to make it thinner. I got an acrylic/wool blend of yarn off base and it smelled kinda funky.  So I soaked the finished scarf in snuggle and now it smells great! I sure hope she likes it! I love the "clover" parts that hang as a fringe from the ends of the scarf.

I've never worked with anything but worsted weight yarn, but I scored this GIANT cone of super thin yarn at the thrift store. After much searching I found a suitable pattern on raverly and voila! Here is the scarf. Since I still have much of the giant cone left, I will be making many more of these. Thanks to my son for modeling, I even told him I would cut his head out of the shots since the scarf is kinda girly, but he said he didn't mind!

I didn't use a pattern for this bag, I just kind of made it up as I went along. But I am so loving these pom poms. I think I need to add them to everything now!  I gave it to my daughter to hold her little pet shops that she likes to carry around with her.

I used this pattern http://chezmichelle.vox.com/library/post/blythe-cupcake-hat---crochet-instructions.html as a base. I had to adjust it and then I had to make up a round of scallops for the middle of the cupcake as that was not included in the pattern. I also tied knots in different colored yarns to make the sprinkles and made the cherry from homespun yarn to make it more fluffy.  My daughter was not impressed with the hat UNTIL I added teh sprinkles and cherry! LOL

Oh and don't ask what crazy evil karate moves my daughter was doing...LOL I have no clue what that was!

I made my other son his Super Mario Scarf.  He wanted Mario & Luigi, so here they are!!
Considering all of the color changes and ends I had to weave in, I think it looks pretty cool!

We are moving to the midwest after 5 years in Okinawa, I think the kids are probably gonna freeze. So I decided to make them some scarves. I let them choose which Super Mario characters they wanted. Here is the 1st scarf. I am gonna try to start the 2nd scarf tonight.
