1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Swishy Christmas Dress (Butterick 4919) on: December 22, 2006 07:57:26 PM
Just what I always wanted for Christmas.... a pinstriped dress with a full skirt and sexy top.  Smiley  And it only took me 2 months to finish it lol  It's a Retro Butterick '52 pattern (B4919) in the shorter length.  I'm wearing it with a petticoat in the pictures.  Oh... and please excuse the general weirdness of the pictures.  Couldn't get a good one to save my life!

2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / First Post.... Fun Retro Dress (Butterick 4790) on: September 06, 2006 02:05:51 PM
Hey all!

I've been on Craftster for 2 years, sewing since I was a teenager, but (like a lot of curvier and plus-sized women) have always had a bit of trouble finding patterns that I've really liked or could get to fit me withotu a ton of altering.

Wellll.... I found one!  This is a Retro Butterick pattern that I picked up because of my love of vintage clothing, the fact that the sizing went up to their size 22, and it was labelled "Fast & Easy."  The hardest part in this was hemming the circle skirt (I have no patience...)

After the ramble, here are a few pics.... please excuse the wrinkles in the dress.  I had gone on a picnic earlier that day with my boyfriend.  Ya know how that goes  Wink
