It's the 6th one down.

So very cool!  What glue and varnish did you use?

Thanks!  I used Mod-Podge and a generic spray acrylic, I don't remember the specific brand, but I got it at Wal-Mart.

Thanks for the great comments, both of you!

bl0bfi5h, I've got some clear acrylic spray, that hopefully should take care of any potential scratching...  And I'm so excited to get my room done, I'm really going all out with the comic theme.  The way I figure it, this might be the last time for awhile that I'm living somewhere that will let me paint the walls- with a huge comic mural...  Smiley

My first decoupage project!  Not counting, of course, the little tissue paper covered box when I was eight  Wink.  So, I'm in the process of redecorating my room (in a comic book theme), and the desk was bugging me because its so dang boring...  Now it's definitely more interesting:

Here's the desk before the makeover:

Here's after the first day:

And now finally finished:

There's panels from older and recent Iron Man comics in there, they're all scans that were printed however, no comics were hurt in the making of this project Wink

I think it turned out pretty good, it just needs a coat of sealer and it's ready for my new room!  I hate to put my computer on it and cover up the comics though  Smiley
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Looking for pattern/tut for small dog carrier (not a tote) on: June 22, 2008 04:03:22 PM
Hi!  I happened to be looking through McCall's website earlier and came across this: http://www.mccallpattern.com/item/M5514.htm.  I'm not sure if it's quite what you're looking for, but it could probably be modded a little smaller or something.  Hope this helps!
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: Can you sew vinyl to fabric? on: June 18, 2008 04:05:15 PM
Just a thought, but maybe you could print the pictures onto iron-on transfer paper?  Then they'll be right on the fabric, not so stiff, and pretty durable.

That looks amazing!  I hope mine will turn out even half as good as that!  Thanks for the advice, I didn't even think about buying the paint in the craft section  Roll Eyes, I guess I was stuck on wall paint, but I'll definitely look at the craft section when I go shopping.

Thanks!
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Micky Maus + Modpodge + Wood = Necklace and Bangle on: June 16, 2008 10:34:30 PM
These are made of awesome!  And you've totally inspired me to try this, I think maybe I'll shrink some Iron Man comics and try that...  Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful jewelry!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Fair-isle Llama! on: June 16, 2008 10:22:17 PM
This is too cool!  And the colors are perfect.  Love it!

A friend and I have a long-running joke about Llamas, this would be a great X-mas gift, do you think you could point me in the direction of the pattern, where to buy it or something?

Again, love the hat!
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Paint for wall mural? on: June 16, 2008 08:58:00 PM
I'm planning on painting a mural across a whole wall in my bedroom, and I'm curious to see if anyone has any paint recommendations.  Any particular type or brand?  Did/would you use some type of paint pen for outlining?  Should I use primer first?  I'm only going to need four colors, I think...

Thanks in advance for any advice.
