1  Bird in Hand mittens in Knitting: Completed Projects by knitting_girl on: January 24, 2011 06:28:09 PM
Here is my latest FO. I love them but they are too big for me so I am gicing them to my mom for her birthday. The pic makes them look two different sizes but they are not Smiley

2  Some Christmas Knitting IMG Heavy! in Knitting: Completed Projects by knitting_girl on: December 31, 2010 08:13:53 AM
So I the professional procrastinator decided about 5 or 6 days before Christmas that I was going to knit the 3 wonderful girls I work with each a neck shawlette, and knit my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, my niece and my daughter all slippers too! Not just any slippers but the ugliest slippers I could come up with....that kind of backfired though, as they all looked pretty good! I also got this insane I dea to design and make custom tshirts for the guys I work with who are a worship pastor, a youth pastor and a media pastor. The tshirts are not knit of course but I will include a pic because they turned out super cute! I also knit up a baby sweater for the youth pastors new baby boy born in November, but I started it in November Wink

Ok first off is a couple shots of the shawlettes, I made 3, pink shimmer, a purple and blue hand paint yarn, and a black tweed self stripping yarn.

Here are a couple slipper shots. I mixed patterns together and also just made them up as I went. Yarn used was wool scraps that I had leftover. You can see my 4 yr old niece's in the group shot, I made the elf slippers from Weekend Knits. Super cute!

Our youth pastor and his wife had a new baby boy in November and I knit them a sweater for their first two baby boys so of course this baby gets one too so here it is:

Ok here are the tshirts. They all say Priceless and each guys title Smiley

3  Kai-Mei Socks from Sock Innovation in Knitting: Completed Projects by knitting_girl on: August 31, 2010 10:01:57 AM
Have not posted here in a while but I just finished a sock in record time for me! It was Kai-Mei pattern and it is a great to-go project. I finished the right sock in under a week, I have never finished a sock in that short of time. I love this pattern.

Yarn is a wool bamboo blend.
Needles: I did go up a size because I am a very tight knitter
No other changes!

I fell in love with this pattern and knew I had to make them. They knit up quick and are not boring at all!

Pattern: Rainy Day Fingerless Gloves from Knit.1 Fall/Winter
Yarn: Berrocco Comfort DK
Needles: size 4
Mods: left out the rain drop embroidery and changed the upper finger color to white for the clouds instead of gray

6  My first adult sweater! in Knitting: Completed Projects by knitting_girl on: March 13, 2009 08:58:09 AM
I started knitting The Cloud Bolero by Ysolda I think but ended up heavily modifying it. I love the end result and am so happy I finished it! I see on small flaw in the front I will have to fix that before I wear it again, looks like a small hole.

The yarn I used was Moda Dea Cartwheel and I knit it on size 10.5 needles.
Mods: Made half sleeves that flare out, made it full length switching to stockinette after raglan increases were completed. Button from bottom of ripple pattern to bottom of sweater.

LOVE IT!

7  2 at a time socks in Knitting: Completed Projects by knitting_girl on: November 06, 2008 05:53:48 AM
I completed my first pair of real socks last night, I did them 2 at a time toe up using Knit Picks pattern. I only did them ankle length as I used 2 half balls of Lion Wool, and I did them on a 40" size US4 circular needle. Obvious errors including one line of twisted stitches where I had used the wrong working yarn and had to go back, and my bind off is always tight so I tried MI in between each bid off, and now realize I should have increased a row, knit one round and then bind off. But oh well they work and I already started my next pair since these took me less than a week!

8  Molly's Headband in Knitting: Completed Projects by knitting_girl on: November 05, 2008 04:07:50 PM
I finished this last night, it was my first lace thing one and I made plenty of mistakes but it still functions so I'll use it Smiley I made it with Classic Elites Wool Bamboo blend and I love that yarn, unfortunately I only got the one ball because it was a closeout product at my local yarn store. BTW it still needs blocking.
