1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: Where to buy ready-made purses on: September 30, 2004 08:31:39 PM
Go to thrift stores especially on sale days. I buy the most wonderful purses that just need a face-lift for $1 or $2 at most. Just look it over really good for any damage that can't be easily fixed. I have painted them and added all kinds of stuff. Good luck!
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: Need a new idea for a strap on my koolaid backpack purse project on: September 30, 2004 08:25:16 PM
I've used beaded necklaces long enough to fold in half (to make 2 straps) just make sure it's nice and sturdy. I use same color beads to match purse and it is soooo cute!
3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: help with a machine problem? please! :) on: September 30, 2004 12:23:41 AM
By the "under thread" I'm assuming you're talking about the bobbin...the first thing I would check is, are you using the correct size bobbin?? It may look like it's the right size but, it can sure cause you headaches. If that doesn't work, sew a bit onto some scrap material & take that to your local fabric store. Those ladies usally know tons about machines.Hope this helps.
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: thread used for juice pouch purses!! on: September 26, 2004 11:34:32 PM
I was using matching thread but, got tired of having to change all the time. So, I started using white and then coloring the finished stitches (zig-zag) with matching permenant marker. Yes, it's a little time consuming but, I'm a perfectionist and my customers love it! Grin
