I love it!! I love reading about Jack the Ripper, especially that one by Patricia Cornwell... very interesting. I  bet your mom will love it!!! The pics were kind of blury, but it looked great-- i'm such a book lover i'm nervous to create a book purse-- but now i want to!!  Grin

have you covered it in anything though? i mean like sticky back plastic, so the pages don't come away or peel or rip, or get damaged by rain?
Thanks. I think maybe i should have covered it. but i just did the glue and water mix to hold the pictures and such to the cover then i covered it all in glue and water.

I made this purse for my mom, for her birthday on the 18th. I made it way early because i wasn't sure how it would come out cause its my first time trying to make a book purse...

The Front.

I took the pages out of the book and dyed them in tea,  and took the pictures, which the book was a murder book, about Jack The Ripper, and decoupaged it to the cover.

The Words and such.

Theres only one snap closure but, it didn't look good, so i made it look like theres two...

The One Snap, very hard to get on...

The pocket and sorta the inside.

The Pocket, its like a double pocket, because i didn't feel like sewing the top...

Now, I'm definitely not a professional here - I've only made a few book purses, but I'm sure you could just glue the cover on before the fabric.  A glue that doesn't wrinkle and will withstand heat/humidity would probably be the best.  A spray would be easier.  Sorry, though, I don't have any glue recomendations.

Like spray adhesive? I have that for my stenciling...

maybe you could use mod podge? it glues and seals (sp?) but i am not familiar on how to make book purses so i don't know how that would work...

Isn't Mod Podge the same as decoupage ?
