Ohmygosh I LOVE THIS!!! I am currently working on a bedroom redo which includes throw pillows and I came to Craftster for some inspiration. I'm totally going to use your zig zag tutorial to do a few pillows - this will be perfect because I have limited yardage of my accent fabrics. Thanks so much for the tutorial, I can't believe how easy it looks.

that top is beautiful!!!!

how did you make the roses?  if you dont mind me asking that is.

yeah, those roses are beautiful......woul d love to know how you made them too!

I must have bookmarked a million different fabric/ribbon flower tutorials while prepping for this swap. I ended up using this one for the flowers:

http://couturesmith.com/2008/11/30/flower-power-a-tutorial/

They were so simple and it was kind of magical how they went from triangles to flowers by just pulling on the thread. I used satin for the ones in sugaree's swap package. I also made one with some chiffon which didn't turn out quite as nice, hence it did not make the cut for the shirt or the extras. I used doubled-up regular thread and a beading needle to attach the beads to the center of each flower and scraps of craft felt to hide the raw edges. Sew the pin or snap or clip or whatever to the felt BEFORE you attach it to the flower, learned that lesson the hard way! I also fray-checked the raw edges before the felt application just because.

Enjoy!

sugaree - I'm so glad you liked your package! And the tank looks supercute on you! I know I mentioned it like 1,000 times already, but I'm glad that you inspired me to craft outside my comfort zone.

Thanks for all of the crafty love, I was heavily inspired by two different tanks/tees on sugaree's wists and hope that I succeeded in making something that was gibbous-inspired without being too fussy.

Pleated bag pattern is the Buttercup Bag. Pattern available for free here: http://www.made-by-rae.com/2009/02/free-buttercup-bag-sewing-pattern.html  It is an easy pattern that requires a small amount of fabric.

I have a picture of the extra flowers - these were so easy and fun to make. I kind of want to make a dozen of them and pin them onto every plain thing I own.

Boo for flakers! I'm bummed to miss out on the awesome gourds.

I've been slack on commenting on all of the fabulous geezerly projects for this swap, but I've been stalking the gallery faithfully and have been so impressed by the talent in this bunch.

And some photos of my fabulous package from Mamaphunk:

All of the loot

Baggie of (vintage?) buttons and a book about buttons

Key fobs - I love these!

Fun girly things! Lots of kanzashi flowers, a pendant, fab felt flower pin and a tiny little matryoshka doll. Plus, an assortment of combs, pins, clips and whatnot - my daughter requested that I make some of them into clip-on flowers for a headband for her.

But wait...there is more! Check out this awesome quilt made from vintage sheets!

And I can't figure out HOW Mamaphunk knew I liked this print because I can't find it on my wist or in my Etsy faves, but what a fun little surprise to find these tucked inside my package:

My kids loved the lollipops, kept them quiet for a good 20 minutes.

And Lucy is a fan of the quilt - see how big it is?

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SUCH A SWELL PACKAGE! I'm thrilled with everything in it!

Figured I ought to check in so my partner doesn't worry I've gone AWOL...still here, though having to put off serious crafting until next week as I have a summer class finishing up in a few days. Brain is too full of academics to focus on crafting. Next week I will be crafting like mad to get things done before the send deadline. I have most of what I need but will have to do at least one more supply run before I can REALLY get started.

Still supply-gathering here. I have bookmarked about 17,000 different pages worth of ideas and tutorials as I have been combing the web for inspiration. Will be heading to the craft store later this week for round 2 of supply purchasing - shopping is sometimes almost as fun as the actual crafting.  Grin

Hooray! I'm so glad you liked your package. I had fun crafting for you and hope that you are able to find a use for each of your items. Smiley

And darn that hubby! Glad you tripped over it this morning, otherwise that might have turned into a big mystery if the PO was showing it as delivered.

oh yeah, that's a good point.  Smiley  i'd love to know that too.  i'm a little afraid crafting for edie22....seems like she wants sewn or stenciled items and i don't really sew or stencil  lol  ....  Huh

Just quickly browsed through YOUR questionnaire and I'm thinking the same thing, except I do sew. I just don't have a lot of experience sewing clothes for adults. I'll have to look through the links more carefully in the next few days and see what types of things are within my skill set. I'm not scared to try something new or to get out of my comfort zone....just scared of what the results might be! :nail biting smiley:

As for my partner, I thought of about 17 other things that I would be thrilled to receive, so if you're not finding something suitable in my top 5 I can give you plenty of other suggestions!  Grin

Guess what I got in the mail today??? That's right, an AWESOME package from Troublet.

The loot: Adorable stenciled tote bag/grocery sack, swiffer cover, set of 3 crocheted dishcloths, three dryer balls, tin full of homemade granola bars and (not sure why it didn't make the picture) some homemade apple butter!

One more view, this time with the other side of the bag:

Close up of the swiffer cover and dishcloths. I love the "hair" on the swiffer cover. I just want to pet it.

We have already sampled the granola bars and they are YUMMY. Thank you so much for such a great package, I love it all!
