1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: wit beyond measure on: July 30, 2011 07:12:34 PM
 Grin thanks again guys.

no real patience, just a lot of "wee this is fun, i should keep going" moments.  Cheesy
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / sing a song.... on: April 14, 2011 06:25:51 PM
i (somewhat) recently finished two projects based on two of my current favorite songs.

"i'm not living for you, i'm just living, so chill with your guilt" graveyard dancing by destroy rebuild until god shows

i seriously love this song and this might be my favorite line from it. i finally figured out that i can, in fact, change the amount of colors on the program i use.  Cheesy

tura lu (the song by the bollox)

once i find some green fabric i like, i'm going to turn it into a bookmark. i got the lettering from a book my mom had and i just made up the border as i went along. it doesn't quite look like it, but the letters are two different colors, it's not some weird lighting thing.  Tongue i still haven't figured out what it actually means, google only gives me song lyrics.  Huh

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Make your own cross stitch patterns on: January 20, 2011 02:05:43 PM
Ive tried this a little and it seems great, but I've got a question about it which I'm not sure how to ask because english is not my native language.
But I will give it a try and hope that someone understands what I mean Smiley

I want to make a piece that will end up being around 120x115 cm big. I entered this in the settings-window that pops up when I import the picture I want. Im a bit new to needleworks so later, when I looked around the internet for aida-fabric I found out that there are different kinds of aida..
Some are "bigger" with only 2,4 "holes"/cm and some are very "small" with 8 "holes"/cm.
The aida I want is 5,4 "holes"/cm. But to my question: Where do I type this? So the size on my fabric will end up correct.

Once again, sorry for my bad english Smiley

do you have the newest version of it? i'm not exactly sure as i haven't used any of the patterns i made with it yet so i don't know if they'll turn out right. if you look under the "cloth name" box, click on the "linen th./cm" then adjust to the size you need. try that, i hope it works.

Great job!
You need to find an old gothic style frame to put it in, an antique-ish looking one!

How long did it take for you to complete minus the periods of sanity? lol

uuuuuhhhhhh....... i honestly have no idea.  Cheesy i know the bottom left hand corner of the banner took me not quite a day, the middle part of the banner might have been two days.... so maybe all together 2 or 3  months?  Huh

i finally got my joanns order today so i'll be starting one i made, if i can manage keeping track of where i am on the screen (no printer ink= no printing of pattern).

!!!  fantastic!

i made a slytherin/gryffindor crest a couple of weeks ago from the leaky cauldron site, but they were much smaller than this.  how big exactly is it?

great job Smiley

do you remember which version you used? according to the pattern it's 187 by 232 stitches and it's slightly wider than the 8 by 10 frame i tried putting it in.

I love this so much!  Would love to make one for my friend who is a Hufflepuff, can I ask where on the site you found the pattern?

needlework on the leaky cauldron. i had used version 5 of the ravenclaw crest. if you want the "official" looking hufflepuff one, version 5 looks like your best bet.

Wowzer!!! That is totally awesome Cheesy  Yay for Harry Potter! Hehe looks like I'm off to the Leaky Cauldron to try and find a slytherin one of these Cheesy Cheesy  You did a fab job with this!!  I look forward to seeing it framed Smiley

thanks.  Grin go with version 5 *hinthint*  Cheesy
if anyone is looking for the gryffindor one, go with version 6. the hogwarts one is version 3. they're all by little mojo.
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: wit beyond measure on: January 11, 2011 09:15:54 PM
thanks guys!  Grin

it really wasn't that hard, i just went page by page doing little sections at a time. i went through periods of "omggottagetitdoneNOW!!!" and throwing to the side. the thing that killed me were the sections where it was one color with no kind of break, like spaces or whatever. those were so BORING!!!  Roll Eyes
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / wit beyond measure on: January 11, 2011 06:21:03 PM

this is probably the biggest cross stitch piece i've done and the first one (that i can remember) that wasn't from  a kit. i still need to find a frame for it because the one i have now is just a smidge too small.

the pattern's from the leaky cauldron site, the ravenclaw crest version 5 by little mojo.

i have a few other harry potter ideas i want to cross stitch, i just have to wait on my joanns order.  Undecided

i tried to make one today and it wasn't as exciting as i hoped it would be.   Sad

slice of cantalope
couple of green tea ice cubes
small handful of watermelon chunks

cantalope tastes better on its own.
