here's some pictures of what i sent to gothmom Smiley
she got a dark crystal t-shirt, a dark crystal themed necklace/pendant, and a journal filled with brian froud's squished faeries ^_^

this is everything -

close up of the pendant -

(which i thought was really cute.  it's an amethyst wrapped in wire that i thought she could have as her very own little piece of the dark crystal Tongue

you can see the cover of the journal in the first picture, and here's just a couple of the faeries smooshed inside -

there's lots of plain paper in there too Wink

i'm really proud of the journal.  it was the first time i've made one that way and i did everything so slowly and painstakingly to make sure it came out well.  i definately plan on making more of those! lol

5  Re: Marble magnets in Completed Projects by echoglow on: November 24, 2005 01:48:14 PM
I don't know how to make those magnets.  They are really nice.  Would someone post how to do it or send me to a link maybe.  My daughter collects magnets, maybe I could make her some for Christmas?

it's super easy.  buy some flat marbles from the floral department of pretty much any store, and some good glue (E6000 is good, like i mentioned before) and then set to work finding oodles of tiny pictures from magazines, newspaper, coupons, heck - even candy wrappers and junk mail lol

then, glue marble to picture, and then pictured marble to magnet Cheesy
(or flat thumbtack.  since i used tacks like a fiend.)

also, i personally dont do it, but you could glue cardstock or something to the back before you put on the magnet, just in case it wants to show through.  (thin paper, like newspaper will sometimes show where the glue is)

hope that helps! Cheesy

oh, and also, i dont bother cutting out the pictures perfectly before i glue on the marble...here's some i made when i had a few spare minutes last night --

once they're dry i cut off the excess paper.  it's much easier that way ^__^

6  Re: Monster Wreath *Now with tutorial* in Halloween Decor and Parties by echoglow on: November 03, 2005 08:15:10 AM
Here's my version of the wreath.  I crocheted a simple hanger out of fuzzy black yarn and sewed it to the top.  The green fur is a different kind, sort of silky and curlier.

i love love that kind of fur ^___^  it's so super soft.

Light blue and chocolate brown are my fav combo.

i like brown and blue too ^_^

i just picked these colors (and a little white) to paint my room with

edited to say - that blue's a little more blue than the paint will be, but you get the idea Smiley
