Here is the finished baby blanket

And here a few resin things. Two of them messed up (the powder floated to the top) but the others came out well. The heart has silver in it, those are not air bubbles. I need to shine it up still.

Cross post from the 50 projects thread, but all of this was made with items from my stash. For acrylic yarn, I only have black left plus the cream I am currently using to make another blanket that is about half done. Once done with that, I'll either finally attempt making socks with sock yarn, or start spinning up new yarn. I'm going to a big fiber fest next month and will be bringing home more so that is why I'm working hard to use up what I already have.  Now just to figure out what to make with the few balls of cotton yarn I have.

Yarn Doll (my first one)

Pillow. This used up the last of that blue that I bought a few years ago!

Small doll blanket (it's about 5-6in square. for a 15cm doll)

Stashghan! this used up almost all of my acrylic yarn. I still have black left but didn't want to put black in this.

Resin hearts. I have some more resin items but still need to upload the pictures.

I have another blanket in progress. It's about half done and is cream colored. I'll post that when I finish. Smiley

I have not posted anything here in a really long time but I have been lurking. I am always amazed at all of the awesome projects everyone posts here. Very inspiring.

Here are some thing that I have finished in the past few months. Not too many and I think a couple are missing, but here is what I have pictures of so far:

I am really loving all of these projects being posted. They are very inspiring.
Here is the shawl I finished last night for my mother. I wish I could have made it a bit longer, but I ran out of the dark purple yarn.

I've already made Resident Evil, Silent Hill 3, and Twilight shadowboxes.  and I love HP, so I need to make that one too, but I'm stuck!!!  I'm trying to figure out how to make a table out of stuff I have.  I can make a center-balanced table, but I need a regular style table.  like a kitchen table.  I have 6 bottles made up with different things in them (salt, "powdered unicorn horn", unfinished polyjuice potion, etc.), a crystal ball, floo powder...stuff to put on a table.  now I just need a table.  lol.  well, at least half of a table.  Wink

Do you have any empty thread spools? you can paint one and then use cardboard from a cereal box or something to use as the top of the table if you want it bigger. how about matchboxes?

Last night I wove up some fabric with some of the yarn I spun and then used it to make my nephew a monster for his birthday. I posted it many places on Ravelry this morning so you may see it around there if you have a Rav account.  He can be turned around so he has crazy hair too. Cheesy

17  Loving my wheel in Spinning: Completed Projects by vampedangel14 on: January 29, 2013 06:58:31 AM
I started spinning with a drop spindle and really enjoyed it, but I wanted a wheel so I would have both hands to work with the fiber and better control. I asked for money for Christmas so I could buy a wheel, and I got a MerlinTree Road Bug. It is small and affordable and just what I was looking for. MT is up the road from me three hours so I took a road trip and went to pick up the wheel directly from them. It was a nice drive through Vermont to get there and we stopped at a nice pizza place in the back of a country store for lunch before heading home.

I immediately started playing with it when I got home (it was already assembled) but did not get any really spinning done that night. The next day I went at it again and finally got the hang of it. My first yarn came out like my first spindle yarn; very thick and thin. I bought a niddy noddy so I could measure and the first skein came out to just 40 yards. I don't have a scale yet so can't weigh anything. 100% Merino top. I love this fiber. It is so soft and easy to spin.

While that first one was drying, I started my second one. This time it came out much more even but still had thick and thin spots. Plying helped even it out a bit, but I am very happy with how it turned out. The first yarn is on the top and the second is on the bottom so you can see the difference.

My next yarns I decided to spin some of the new fiber I got over the weekend. It is still 100% Merino top but this is superwash (which I actually didn't realize it until I was going to spin it and was reading what the bag said). I did not notice any difference in spinning it at all.  This yarn came out even better and again is more even though not perfect. This one is 207 yards.

The one I did next I decided to leave as singles instead of plying it. It is thick and thin with the intentions of weaving with it. this one is 212 yards.

I still have some of that purple fiber left (which is what I bought when I first picked up my spindle!), but I went right through the 8.5oz of that green/yellow/blue mix in one day because I couldn't stop spinning! I have more fiber to play with and I'm very excited to get to it. I already have a project planned for the thick and thin green mix, but not sure about the others just yet.

I need to buy myself a jumbo flyer and bobbins. I'm filling up what I have so fast I can't keep up! Cheesy

I have more yarn finished! Yeah, I'm counting each one as a project since they take awhile to do. It took me two hours just to ply!  In order of finished;

Another purple one but this one is much better (the one on the bottom). The top one was only 40 yards, but the second was 120 yards.

I then switched to a different color. Still 100% Merino but this one is superwash. The one on the left is two ply and 207 yards and the one on the right is thick and thin single for weaving, 212 yards.

I have my loom warped and ready to use that thick and thin. I'm making my nephew a monster for his birthday. It was last week but his party is on Saturday. I've never made one before but always wanted to. I'm hoping it turns out okay.

Wow, what fun and amazing projects everyone is doing and it is only the second week of January! I myself have two to start my list off with.

I bought my very first spinning wheel on Saturday, so my first project of the year was to learn how to use it. it took a few hours to get going so I am counting it!

The second would be my first wheel spun yarn! This is also my very first time plying, but I won't count that separately. I do still need to set the twist, but I'm too excited and happy with it to wait to show it off.

This is thick and thin as I still need to get used to the wheel, but it still came out pretty and super soft. It is 100% Merino.

The other week I finally finished the baby blanket I have been working off and on since this summer. It's not too big, measures about 18.5in across. My first time crocheting a flat circle. A bit wavy but I'm happy with how it turned out.

Just updated my list and I have a sad 14 projects. I am currently working on knitting my first pair of socks. Hopefully will have those added to my list soon.
