51  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Nature Girl on: December 14, 2013 08:09:15 AM

I worked on this for the IYP swap and my partner just got it so I can post up.  Smiley  She gave me a couple themes and forest animals was one of them. I knew I wanted to try that one. I wanted the girl to be younger and less serious than I normally do and it was my first time drawing any of these animals. I tried drawing a cat earlier this year and failed miserably so I wasn't sure how they would turn out. I like the bunny best. I have a soft spot for them anyways. They are just SO darned cute!

This was done in Copic markers. My hubby surprised me with a couple new sets. And I tried using sepia outlining instead of black. I love the sepia! I think it made a ton of difference. Now I want to try the gray, blue, green, wine. I am just so curious on how they would turn out.
Thanks for checking it out! I have two more drawings I need to get done before Christmas so I have to get started working on them..... Shocked
52  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Buddha for the Holidays! on: December 13, 2013 07:49:55 AM
I drew my (future) SIL's name for Christmas this year and I was so excited. She loves Buddha's and I had already purchased her this fabric just in case I got her. I have been looking for something like this for a while.
She likes bigger bags so I used Emmaline Bag pattern. It's approx. 15" wide, 9" tall, and about a 4" bottom so it can hold a lot. This was my first time doing an intermediate pattern. It is far from perfect but I think it turned out nice. The bottom has a plactic base that you made a pillow type opening for and then put the interior over. I was unsure at first because I have never done anything like that but it worked!

It also has two interior pockets. One with a zipper.

and one without done in the exterior fabric for a little pop.

Thanks for looking. I plan to use this as her wrapping and add all her goodies inside. I am so excited to give it to her. I hope she likes it!
Oh, and I plan to make another one for my sister's birthday in Apri, in a different fabric of coursel. I think that one will turn out a little better since I am more familiar with the pattern.
53  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / These foxes say nothing on: December 11, 2013 12:17:12 PM
We moved into a new home a couple months ago and I wanted to put some art work up that was no so obviously my stuff. I decided to try some abstract since I normally draw girls.
I picked two foxes playing in the snow. It will be a seasonal thing to put up.
The background was done in metallic paints and richer, warm tones.

then I painted over it all with white, cream, black and a touch of blue. I originally wanted this to be more textured but it was my first time doing it and sort of chickened out. Here is a close up of the crouching fox.
54  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Dr. Who - Matt Smith ATC on: November 27, 2013 10:30:51 AM
I recently rejoined the ATC swap after a long hiatus. One of the first ATC's I did was for Whovarian Geekery. Matt Smith is pretty much the only Dr. I have watched so by default he is my favorite.  Tongue

The colors turned out a bit bright in my picture. It's more muted in the original. Oh, and it was done in Copic markers like most of my ATC's.
 Thanks for looking!
55  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Pink Lady ATC on: October 23, 2013 06:39:06 PM
I was bored today and started doodling. I sort of liked where it was going so I decided to ink & Copic it up. It's been so long since I have done an ATC. Sort of miss it. I was thinking of darkening the bottom some more. Anyway, here she is...

 Thanks for taking a look!
56  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Frankenstein Fridge Magnet on: July 13, 2013 04:33:17 PM
I made this little fridge magnet to help decorate my kitchen.  Grin
I drew up Frankenstein and colored him in with Copic markers. I almost always do portraits in B&W so I did that first, then added the color on top. I think that trick worked out okay. The circle frame is something I picked up on sale at Michael's having NO idea what I would do with them.
Frank is enjoying the kitchen view now.  Wink

 Thanks for looking!

59  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Steins in Love on: June 02, 2013 08:17:05 AM
I am on the Monster Team for the Summer Nerd Games and this month's battle is Romance vs. Horror. Being on Team Monster I think Horror would have been easier but I was all for romance! I picked the most famous Monster couple, Frankenstein's Monster and his Bride. I found these slate looking hearts I bought from Michael's a long time ago for a quarter. I knew they would come in handy!  Wink  I photocopied some old ATC's of Universal Monsters I made onto card stock and cut them out. I found a bunch of embellishments I bought right after Halloween too. Glittery spider webs, bats, and spiders and thought they would be perfect for this project. Everything was from my stash! I love it when that happens!  Grin
 Here is the result:

and individually...

Frank's Monster.

I have been trying to fill up a wall with random artwork so this is going up.  Wink
60  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Shambala Bracelets on: May 25, 2013 06:09:04 PM
Okay, No one may find Shambala bracelets that spectacular but I am not usually the jewelry making kind of girl. I had to keep muttering "Left, right, under, over, left, right, under, over....". I sounded like I was insane until I messed up, then I sounded like a pirate.  Embarrassed
But I managed to get a couple of these little guys done. I was proud of them and sent them off to their new home for the IYP swap.

I will be making more for Christmas.  Grin
