51  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Geisha Cards on: June 05, 2012 01:38:48 PM
I made these cards for the MaF swap because my partner likes Japanese culture and imagery. I ended up having to buy a bunch of cards to get the shimmer "gold" background but I think the end result was pretty. I made a couple extra sets (I have two more sets to make) to send out to friends and family that still use the snail mail.
Here are the two cards together...

 The red one...

 and the pink one...

and just because - one with the envelope.

Hope you like them. They were my first cards. I am terrible at embellishing so I am starting slow. I bought some tiny brads to put on the pink one but chickened out.  Undecided  Maybe next time. I am hoping to be able to make my sister a bunch of random cards for Christmas so this will be the start of her set!
 Thanks for looking!
52  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / January ATCs - some not posted yet. Pick heavy & some nudes! on: February 11, 2012 05:15:21 PM
Hello All! This year I am following Jillybeans lead and posting the ATC's I made each month in here. I think it's neat to see them all together and I know not everyone checks out the ATC swap gallery (even though you should!). My cat, Venkman, is helping me with this so sorry if there are a bunch of misspells. He likes to type too!
Some of these cards are in the Dec gallery, but I did them in Jan....
Sorry this post is so pic heavy. I had a very productive month. I also made three for my sister but forget to get pictures of them so I will add those to next months...
Faerie tale Red Riding Hood,
#14. I picked this then had no idea what to do,
I absolutely LOVED Thundercats as a child. I drew Cheetara ALL the time!,
I have a list of things I wanted to do this year and books as backgrounds was one of them,
I just wanted to do the eyes like that. It's my fave Geisha look. This card may have been lost in the mail...,
I really wanted to do a cut out one. I likes the way she turned out. ,
so you can tell that she is clear in the background. I did them the same day.,
Guys aren't as easy to draw for me as girls but I was pleased with this one. Oh, and I LOVE Copic markers! LOL!,

This one is for Zombies. She just dies, that's why she is in black and white and the person over her has to remove her head before she reawakens and is a zombie. My husband did NOT get it. Maybe I was reading too much "Forest of hands and Teeth" at the time.  Embarrassed
The first fearie makes your belt feel tight even when you know you haven't gained weight, the second steals your sunglasses ( I can never keep a pair for longer than a week) and the final faerie that makes your eyes dry and itchy.
, Guess who got a circle template? Yep, you'll see more of this type. I really liked the idea that she could be anywhere. You could put a field, sky, fire, whatever being her.
And this was for an ABC of people with weird hobbies.
Oops! Forgot these. I thought they were for Dec but they aren't...
These were for a personal swap, colorful hairstyles. I wanted to work on profiles and play with my new markers too.

This one was scratchboard. I ordered a bunch of it just so I can try to do more than just drawing. I am horrible at embellishing! LOL!
Last but not least...Tinkerbell on Hook's hook.  Wink

Thanks for looking! And a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who swapped with me! I enjoyed all the ATCs I got this month! Thank You!
53  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Personal ATC's so far this year! on: January 11, 2012 01:16:48 PM
Okay, I do a LOT of ATC swapping on Craftster but I have never posted here, only in the galleries. This year I said I would add some of my personal or private swaps in here....
I love mythical creatures and naga's (nagini's) and mermaids are two that I LOVE to draw so I did myself one! I really liked her. She is one of my favorites I have done. I may go over the background again though...

I swapped this card with SimplyShereena. I sent her two more cards but forgot to get pictures of those. Ooops!

and last but not least is a card I swapped with SuperDuperBunbun. Got the cutest hedgehog back in return (he's in the gallery for Jan.)

 Thanks for looking!
54  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Bug, Spider, Insects, and Pin Striped Purses on: September 05, 2011 06:26:04 PM
I was holed up this weekend house sitting and decided to use my time wisely and try out a new pattern. I cut out a bunch of fabrics. I couldn't decide which one I liked best and with each one I made I thought of a new fabric that would be great.  Cheesy  I have a few more I still want to try.

These purses are slim enough to fit under your arm for a clutch feel and big enough to take on a day trip or night out. They are roomy inside and fit all the essentuals. I still have to make a zebra print one for my neice.
The o-ring seems a bit big and I may make that a bit smaller on my next round of these.

I like the pleated detail. Here is a close up of one of them.

Here is the top flap of the Ghastlies one. This is such a fun fabric!

 Thanks for looking!
55  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Spider & Web Messenger Bag and Goodies on: March 23, 2011 03:54:56 PM
My sisters birthday is in April (& so is her name) and I wanted to make her presents this year. I did my first swap about a month and a half ago and it was the make a purse and fill it swap. I had a lot of fun doing it so I decided to keep to the same requirements and make one for her. She recently changed her style and asked for something in purple or orange and with bats or spiders. This is what I chose to do...
She likes messenger bags... I used napkitten pattern Swift Summer.

open. The inside has a zippered divider.
These are the extras I included...

matching coin purses

I added a book inside the bag and made this bookmark to go with it.

secret pocket pillow bat

with his mouth open

and fridge magnets!
I can't wait to give it to her! C&C welcome!
Now that I am finished I can start working on my next swap. Swapping is addictive!

56  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Christmas Stocking Stuffers on: November 03, 2010 06:56:57 PM
I have started working hard on making my Christmas gifts for the year. I have a lot of family members and friends that are hard to shop for so I give them gift cards. It's easier on me but I hate to not give them something a little more personal. So, I jazz up the gift card a little with fabrics picked according to their personalities and interests. Here are a couple of my favorites. I really hope they like them!

This is for my friend that loves barbie dolls and zombies. I thought this was a great combo of the two.

I love Edward Gorey and this fabric reminds me so much of his art.

My Mom is an elementary teacher and we love Olivia!

 This one is just cool!

My Aunt is kind of hard to shop for so a cute holiday print for her.

I think this was a pillow case...

My brother in law loves the Simpsons.

I love this fabric that I got for my Granny. It's so pretty with the glitter.

Hope you like them. I REALLY hope they like them too!

57  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Secret Keeper Kitty! on: October 26, 2010 05:59:15 PM
I have had this pattern for a while and finally had the time to try it out. I am hooked! I finally have something to do with all my scraps! I new I would find a good use for them.   Wink
I made it a little kitty and named her Daphnie. She could be used as a tooth fairy pillow or as a secret pocket for any small item.
I already have enough scraps cut out for three more. I know what all the kids in my family are getting for Christmas!

Closed mouth

After the tooth fairy has visited!

Comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

58  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / owl coin purse on: October 25, 2010 07:27:51 PM
I made this cute owl coin purse for my Mom because she is so wonderful and always helps me so much. When I gave it to her I stuffed it with Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, her favorite. She seemed to like it and thought it was really cute.
I got the pattern from Keykalou. I wanted to do something that let me play with patterns and combining colors. I went with a fall motif. It's a fun pattern and I can't wait to make more!
Next time I will place the velcro a little lower because the beak pokes out a bit when it's closed.
Thanks for checking it out!  Smiley

59  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Halloween Inspired Lapel Pins on: September 01, 2010 12:53:03 PM
I wanted a way to liven up my wardrobe a bit and add a touch of Halloween quirkiness this year. I decided to try my hand at some brooches. This is attempt one. They were a lot of fun to make! After finishing these I have so many more ideas.   Tongue

 All of them together

One of my personal favorites, teh Bride of Frankenstein

Leather Face from A Texas Chainsaw massacre
And an anatomical heart

Let me know what you think! I'd love ideas and suggestions!

60  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Funky purses on: May 03, 2010 08:07:54 PM
This is my first post. I have been trying to sewing for a little while but my busy schedule doesn't allow for it much. I decided to force myself to make the time and construct purses for my friends as gifts. Here was the first. Let me know what you think.

My personal fave. Pattern by Keykalou. Very good pattern for those of us not quite that confident in our skills!
