31  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Monster Wall Clock on: April 11, 2013 12:09:15 PM
I guess this is where I would post this...

I made this wall clock for a swap I was in about a month ago and realized I hadn't posted it up on any boards yet. I thought it was a cute idea and want to make another one for my iown wall.
I just used a wooden circle and drilled a hole in it to put the clock parts. The ears are made from cardboard that I sealed the corrugated part of. They were originally suppose to be horns but we all know how crafts can decide to be something different on us.  Tongue  I was pleased with how easy and fun he was to make.
I thought he turned out cute, if a little sad looking.

 and here is another angle...

The top picture is truer to the actual colors.

 Thanks for looking!

32  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / This Bike is EYEING you on: March 10, 2013 11:58:05 AM
My husband is completely obsessed with riding his motorcycle. Yesterday he had his first track day and it was quite the event for us. He went with one of his friends, Jack. While they were preparing their bikes Jack mentioned that he thought eyeballs were the headlights used to be would be funny. My husband immediately volunteered me.  Wink
To be honest, I can't remember what kind of bike Jack rides. But here are some pics of what I did. I thought it turned out pretty nifty.

These pics are the right way on my computer, I have no idea why they are coming out sideways....

and here is a pic of both Jack and my husband, Steve's bike. Now they want me to put eyes on Steve's too. We will see...
33  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Edgar Allen Poe Purse on: March 07, 2013 07:13:56 AM
My sister's birthday is coming up and every year I try to make her a purse. I wasn't able to do it last year due to a case of laziness but this year the Purse Craft-along came around just in time to save me! I will also have to give some credit to the snow storm that kept me home from work yesterday.  Tongue

Here is the purse I made her. She is into Edgar Allen Poe recently. I got the Nevermore fabric and this is what I came up with.
 Front of bag

and the back

inside I added the raven to the pocket because I know she loves ravens. I also used light fabric to make it easier to find things in.

And here is the whole thing so you can see how long the handles are

The gusset is done in the same splotchy black fabric.

I am going to fill it up with a bunch of Poe and bat stuff for her. Not quite sure what spells and maple leaves have to do with Poe but apparently they do (?). I hope she likes it.  Embarrassed
C&C welcome and thanks for checking it out!

34  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / LotR ATC's on: January 14, 2013 07:40:44 AM
I recently did a private swap with RaeRaggs and she wanted some Lord of the Rings cards. The only character that she requested was Gollum and she let me pick out the rest myself and surprise her. I chose Gandalf the Gray (I always liked the Gray better than the White) and Legolas.
I did two of them a bit different buy adding touches of color to them. I think it turned out better on Gollum. I was scared I would mess up Gandalf if I messed with him so I left him alone.

35  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Girls, girls, girly-girls on: December 06, 2012 10:09:32 AM
Last month I had did a couple ATC's for the ATC swap and one for myself. They ended up all being girls. I didn't realize it til I had them all together.  Roll Eyes
Here is the one I made for myself, Red Riding Hood. I darkened up around the wolfs mouth and it looks a little better. I will try to update the photo but we all know how hectic it is during the holidays.

I tried a different style for this card and I really liked it, my husband did not. I am sort of second guessing it because of the hubby's response but he is always very honest and I appreciated it. It's Alice from Alice in Wonderland.

Another Bride of Frankenstein. I have done her a couple times but I think they keep improving. At least that is what I tell myself.

And after seeing a couple great Medusa cards from Leather and Lace a tried one too. It was intimidating making one after seeing how awesome hers turned out (check out the Oct ATC swap for them).

And I did a private swap with pilarfarmer. She wanted a plus sized mermaid. I really liked the way her fishy body part came out but I think she should have been chunkier. My husband called her pregnant (there is that honesty)  Undecided  and said she needed bigger tata's. After sending it I sort of agree.

Thanks for checking them out. As always C&C welcome.
36  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Silhouette Shadow Box on: December 05, 2012 01:46:35 PM
First of all, I am so proud of myself for spelling silhouette right the fist time! LOL! That being said I will procede....

I did this piece for the Wall Art Swap and my partner just received so I thought I share here too.
I wanted to do something sort of dimensional but that was protected so her cats wouldn't destroy it. I was walking around Michael's and came across these shadow boxes on sale and grabbed up three. You never know when you will need a shadow box, right?
Embellishments and I are not usually very friendly with each other and I have been trying for the last couple of months to learn so I can add something more to my drawings. The shadow box is sort of like a leaf box (snow globe) thing too because the leaves at the bottom are not glued down so they can be shaken up.
I thought it turned out clean and bright looking.  Wink

Yes, the flash is right in the picture but I couldn't avoid it. And the proportions of the people and leaves are WAY off but I sort of liked that. I thought it made it look whimsical. Hopefully my partner did too.
Since I have more shadow boxes on hand I was thinking of trying a bat themed one for my sister when I have time.
 Thanks for looking!
37  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Lennon and Red-head Personal Swap on: November 27, 2012 06:46:01 AM
I asked stickerchic87 to do a personal swap with me because she made me an amazing Red Riding Hood ATC and I wanted it a little bigger so it would show up better on my wall. I love truly the card! so in return I sent her a couple of ATC's.
I used her themes from the on-going swap and choose The Beatles and Ginger Girls. This is what I came up with....

Lennon (hopefully he is recognizable) from The Beatles.

and a ginger girl singing away. I really wanted to add freckles but then I chickened out. I have no idea how to do that and make it look right. I figured I would practice some before I butchered up a card.
 Thanks for looking! C & C welcome.
38  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / GIZMO!!! on: November 19, 2012 06:43:07 AM
I have a thing for Gizmo. NOT Gremlins, mogwai. I LOVE Gizmo. He is SO cute. I would have a million of them if they were real. I think of them as Bigfoot midgets and hope one day to find them both. I did a couple of personal swaps for Gizmo cards and here are the ones I sent out.

Sorry for the fuzzy pic but it was all I had. Here is Rambo Gizmo from Gremlins 2 shooting his paperclip bow. He was Katniss before Katniss.
I sent this cards with a couple of my duplicate Grimlins cards. Nope, I am not that big of a dork so stop thinking it!  Roll Eyes

And here was the first one I made.

 Gizmo is such a cutie!
C & C welcome. Thanks for checking them out!
39  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / October ATC's on: November 19, 2012 06:34:44 AM
It's been a while since I have posted here so I thought I would add up some of the cards I did for last months on-going swap since they have all been received now. I did a bunch of girls. Without further ado, here they are...

This was my favorite one of the month. My friend said she looked sort of like a Ghostbuster so I can understand why I liked her.  Wink   I liked her expression.

I did this one the same day. I guess I was on a pink haired kick.  Wink

And I liked her hair style on the last one so I made this card. LOL! All theses cards sort of built on each other. After I finished the card I sprayed some red spray on a peice of paper and rubbed it on with a q-tip. I think I went a bit overboard and if I had to do it again would have used less red. Live and learn.

This was my second favorire for the month. I like the thick line outlining her. I also liked the background style. I have tried to draw the "ocean with a ship in the distance" a million times and it comes out dumb looking so I went for something completely different and liked it much better.

and last but not least is the bikini shot. I wanted to make it feel like it was 100 degrees out and I think the background worked. I think?
 Thanks for looking. C&C welcome!
40  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Halloween Swapped on: October 10, 2012 11:55:12 AM
I joined the Surprise Halloween ATC Swap and had a lot of fun making these cards. They have all be received so I thought I would go ahead and post them before the holiday season changes from the frightful to the merry!

This was actually my last card done but I was really proud of myself for spraying it down. I was worried I was going to ruin it and have some random crazy streak somewhere. I think it turned out good. I was happy. It's, of course, from Psycho.

I thought I would be funny and use A.T.C. for the graves initials. Yep, I am a big dork. It's suppose to look like the zombie drug himself across the cemetery.

And this little scarecrow breaks free at night.. and is tough enough to tackle that fence! Watch out for him.  Wink

I hope everyone enjoyed their cards. I had a lot of fun making them and they really put me in the Halloween spirit!
