2081  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Tim Burton swap? on: April 12, 2013 10:20:07 AM
I love this theme! And I am with Anubisheart, I would like to do it if it's not huge. There are so many great swaps that I have had to pass up because they were just so large and I can not guarentee my life won't get crazy.
I am sure if you put this on the board you would have a lot of takers. If you need someone to organize I can do it! Just let me know what size and times are good for everyone.

PS. Love your Oogie La Chapa!

2085  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Monster Wall Clock on: April 11, 2013 12:09:15 PM
I guess this is where I would post this...

I made this wall clock for a swap I was in about a month ago and realized I hadn't posted it up on any boards yet. I thought it was a cute idea and want to make another one for my iown wall.
I just used a wooden circle and drilled a hole in it to put the clock parts. The ears are made from cardboard that I sealed the corrugated part of. They were originally suppose to be horns but we all know how crafts can decide to be something different on us.  Tongue  I was pleased with how easy and fun he was to make.
I thought he turned out cute, if a little sad looking.

 and here is another angle...

The top picture is truer to the actual colors.

 Thanks for looking!

I never thought about pleats! Thanks for the idea Alwaysinmyroom! If it doesn't fit after the trimming I will pleat it. Thanks!!!

Okay, here is some proof that I am still here and crafting-a-long. LOL! I wish I was as fast a sewer as the rest of you! Alas I am SO S-L-O-W.
I finished up the front and back of the purse and added trim for the first time. I have never attempted trim before so this was a bit of a stresser. It is wonky in places to put it nicely but this is my first purse for myself (I have done wristlets but nothing else for me) and I am okay with it. It's a learning experience.
Please ignore the dirty looking ironing board.  Embarrassed
As you can see the front turned out WAY bigger than it was suppose too. I don't think I made the seam allowances big enough on the patched pieces. Though I didn't think I was THAT far off.

I am going to place the liner piece over it and trim it slightly bigger than that. Then there is more trim around it. Hopefully this trim will be smoother.

And thanks to everyone for keeping me motivated and inspired! I know without this board the fabric would have lived out it's life in a bag with the pattern untouched forever.

JessKelly - can't wait to see your clutches! I do the same thing, I get excited, finish the focus of the purse, and then really want to move on to another project. The lining and details can be so boring sometimes. I just want to see what it will look like! Ha!

LOL! I figured out the Venus ones and I thought that was a frog for Lagoona. They are very cute. Tell her thank you!

amigurl55 - love all those clothes you made! I have the exact same fabric you made the skull dress out of and would have never guessed it would turn out so awesome! Neat custom too!
