Super cool. I love the pic and where it hangs. Perfect length.
Might have to look up Ms. Peabody as well.  Wink
1852  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Nature Girl on: December 14, 2013 08:09:15 AM

I worked on this for the IYP swap and my partner just got it so I can post up.  Smiley  She gave me a couple themes and forest animals was one of them. I knew I wanted to try that one. I wanted the girl to be younger and less serious than I normally do and it was my first time drawing any of these animals. I tried drawing a cat earlier this year and failed miserably so I wasn't sure how they would turn out. I like the bunny best. I have a soft spot for them anyways. They are just SO darned cute!

This was done in Copic markers. My hubby surprised me with a couple new sets. And I tried using sepia outlining instead of black. I love the sepia! I think it made a ton of difference. Now I want to try the gray, blue, green, wine. I am just so curious on how they would turn out.
Thanks for checking it out! I have two more drawings I need to get done before Christmas so I have to get started working on them..... Shocked

That is such a cool idea and I LOVE the way they turned out. Kind of rustic meets contemporary. Original and super cool. I especially like that your doing with your child. It's something you can look back on years from now and still marvel over. Absolutely beautiful!

Oh! Your bunny is so cute. I am jealous. I have a bunny but he was wild when I got him. He was supposed to be snake food and I just couldn't let that happen. He only lets me pet him when I am giving him treats.
Your bunny is absolutely adorable. I am pinning that last photo. I love that expression, like Santa just caught him. Too cute!!!!

Perpetual! That's the word I could not think of!  Cheesy

Thanks for all the nice comments on the artwork. She is actually rendered in markers and not painted. I used Copics. Just started the sepia outlining and I love it!

Bunny1kenobi - That is awesome. Perfect quote for them too! And it is done very prettily. I am sure she will adore it and see the humor in it too.  Wink

Etsy, and it's Buddha. Let me correct that.   Embarrassed
1859  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Buddha for the Holidays! on: December 13, 2013 07:49:55 AM
I drew my (future) SIL's name for Christmas this year and I was so excited. She loves Buddha's and I had already purchased her this fabric just in case I got her. I have been looking for something like this for a while.
She likes bigger bags so I used Emmaline Bag pattern. It's approx. 15" wide, 9" tall, and about a 4" bottom so it can hold a lot. This was my first time doing an intermediate pattern. It is far from perfect but I think it turned out nice. The bottom has a plactic base that you made a pillow type opening for and then put the interior over. I was unsure at first because I have never done anything like that but it worked!

It also has two interior pockets. One with a zipper.

and one without done in the exterior fabric for a little pop.

Thanks for looking. I plan to use this as her wrapping and add all her goodies inside. I am so excited to give it to her. I hope she likes it!
Oh, and I plan to make another one for my sister's birthday in Apri, in a different fabric of coursel. I think that one will turn out a little better since I am more familiar with the pattern.

Just finished this up for my (future) SIL last night. She loves Buddah's and I was so excited when I found this fabric. This is a larger purse and it is far from perfect but I am still proud of it. It was my first intermediate pattern. It has a plastic piece in the base and you do this pillow type fold to keep it there and then you put the liner in.  Huh  Turned out though! It has two pockets inside, one with a zipper and one without. I already plan to do another one for my sister for her birthday in April. I figure it would be a little nicer since I am more familiar with the pattern. I am going to give this to my SIL with all her gifts inside, it's sort of the wrapping.

inside pocket #1 (sorry the pic is a bit fuzzy)

 and the focus pocket.
