1491  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Avant Garden On the Go Bag on: September 24, 2014 11:10:15 AM
I love that it is so well organized. It's small but everything has a place. Grin Fantastic job on it!

Research Project Idea: Since I have never done a quilt before I did a little random, hopefully okay, figuring. I plan to do a lap quilt. I wanted it be a bit longer so my Dad can tuck it under his feet. Please correct me if any of this sounds wrong. I am going to do a block of nine 4.5" squares with a total of 35 blocks. Each block is going to consist of a solid (red) fabric and then a print. I am going to use 5 different prints. I THINK I will need about 2 1/2 yards of the solid red and 5 half yards of each print. I think. That is where my figuring came in.... it is for the front of course and I want to use a flannel sheet for the back for extra warmth.
Estimated Time Line? Forever. Ha! Seriously, I hope to have it done for Christmas but I plan on working on it thru this season of the Games too. How long should this take normally? I have no idea what I am getting myself into.  Tongue

Love this! The style is so stunning.
I am with Bunny1 (usually am). I can't find the I LOVE YOU but I am pretty sure I found an owl and a rattle snake. LOL! Zentangles are like clouds. You can get lost in the dreaminess of them.  Grin

1499  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Luna the Lady on: September 23, 2014 07:10:22 AM

This was done for Suereal in the IYP swap. I also did her other dog Cosmo as a gentleman.
This one is Luna the Lady. She wanted her dog to be anthropomorphic Steampunk characters. I think Luna has some sass.  Smiley I cut her out and raised her from the background for a more dimensional effect. I have never done someone's animal before so I was intimidated. Much less switch them around so much. I really hope she likes them. I sent them to her parents home so she hasn't seen them up close yet.

 Thanks for looking! Grin
1500  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Cosmo the Gentleman on: September 23, 2014 07:06:04 AM

I made this piece for Suereal in the IYP swap. She asked for her dogs in an anthropomorphic style as Steampunk people. I have never done anything like this before so I was really intimidated to even try it but I think it turned out neat. I hope she likes them. They were sent to her parents house so she hasn't actually seem them close up yet.
I cut them out and posted them on the background to give them a bit of depth. They were done in Copic markers. Cosmo was in warm gray and the rest in a neutral gray.

 Thanks for looking!
