251  Re: Ongoing ATC Swap - June 2012 - GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by gozer on: June 25, 2012 07:19:42 PM
After a very stressful day (can't my family just get a break this year?), I came home to find two wonderful ATC's in my mailbox. I really want to say thank you to everyone in this swap. This year has been a roller coaster for my family and some times getting a little piece of fun in the mail can mean the world. Thank you guys!
Okay, enough sap. Here are the goods!
First up, the ever talented Kwality570. I adore these guys. I could collect an entire binder full of them and still never have enough! Thank you for Quincy. He wil have a wonderful home next to the other monsters! PS. Love the backgrounds. Are you playing with Distressing ink? I love it!

Next is from Rosie1981. Awe. Poor little guy needs a hug! I love satyrs and this one is perfect. I think he is faking sad so we will all follow him into the woods and to our doom. Sneaky little fellow! But who could resist? Wink

and the super duper amazing animal with a cigarette! Oh, it's so great. I love embroidery! It's perfect!

Next up... PilarFarmer. Wow! You outdid yourself! This moveable card is amazing!!! I am going to show it twice so everyone can see it in action!
and she also added a super fun Pilar Farming card! She said she isn't really a farmer but I think she makes one sassy greaet lookin' farmer!

And Fancybutch did an amazing, amazing non-fabric card. I love Frankenstein and she hit this right on the head. LOVE him!!!

Jillybeans is last but not least! She sent me an adorable image of her. Your water color is unbelievable. What a great job! Thank you so much. It will be the header to one of my many pages of your phenominal cards!

253  Work Your Theme ATC Swap Round 2? in New Swap Theme Ideas by gozer on: June 20, 2012 12:14:10 PM
I was thinking of starting up a round 2 of the Work Your Theme ATC Swap. Everyone seems to be missing one or two cards to complete a set or you could start a whole new set, that's what I am going to do.  Wink
You could finally get that letter Z to complete your alphabet! LOL!
Anyone interested in another round? I was thinking of posting sign ups within a week or two and having it start around the 23rd of July.
 What does everyone think?

Here is a link to the original thread
 and the awesome gallery

The wonderfully amazing Jillybeans offered up part of her ATC collection of the Harry Potter Alphabet to use as a header!

And if you are wondering what an ATC is....here is the link for you!

All the packages so far are amazing!
I got Package 2 from TroubleT on Wednesday but this is the first chance I have had to post it. She is awesome!
First the group shot...

I am completely obsessed with list writing and have about five seperate notebooks in my purse at all time. I just write everything down, twice. LOL! She gave me a notebook and an awesome notebook cover. I love it. It's small enough to slip in my purse but not too small that one thought fills up a page. And it has little pockets on the front and back cover. Love that!
Here is a close up of it. It has a snap closure. It is on the super fantastic comic book fabric that she sent me! The fabric has Spider-Man, Thor, Iron Man, and all the rest. I am a huge comic book geek. This fabric ROCKS!!!

and she also added a get started kit for hooplas! I always see the coolest hooplas on Craftster. I have wanted to try them but I had no idea what you were suppose to do really. SHe has the BEST tuts on her website and all those different stitches look so doable when she explains them! HA! We will see. I have always wanted a Gizmo hoopla but I think I will start with attempting a Stay Puft guy. I think he would be a touch easier.
I got a hoop, lots of thread, embroidery needles, Crayons (who knew you used Crayons?!) and some fabric.

 Can't wait to start!
Thank you TroubleT. This box was so awesome. Have fun on your trip!

I feel so bad for that elephant! He does NOT look confident! LOL! Great card though!

I got an amazing card from bunny1kenobi. Not only does she have a kick a$$ user name she has mad skills with this ultra adorable card. I squealed when I opened it. The picture doesn't do it justice because the background is almost an irridecent and shimmers so nicely against the picture of this cute little satyr. His name is Pan so he has to be a satyr  Wink. He even has a blush of freckles! Really awesome job. I love him! Thank you so much!

I used to use a cigar box too! Then my cat got jealous and knocked it off the shelf and broken the hinges.  Undecided
 So I got this!

I was super specific that I had to have THIS one. I love it. Oh, and that is my kitty, Dahlia inspecting it. ** She is not the one that broke the original box. Having her picture here makes her look so guilty though **
It has built in folders to keep cool papers and clippings. It also has a shoulder strap so I can take it to my parents house to show my Mom. She is an art teacher and likes to see all the cards I get!

Here is a sampling of one of the pages. I plan on reorganizing them to put the picture of the artist with their cards. My Husband did the center one and my step-son did the one to the left of it. Neither did them by choice, but I told them if you want a favor done you need to get to work on a card! Wink

Mountains and Clouds sent me my first card from my new theme "a card of you". I am so excited about this theme! Thank you Mountains and Clouds.
Here is the very pretty Mountains and Clouds card!

She also sent an extra. A smoking fish.  Grin

I love that he has bubble instead of smoke! Ha!
Thank you so much. These are awesome!

258  Classic Movie Monster ATCs with 2 Bride of Frankensteins added! in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by gozer on: June 10, 2012 11:36:47 AM
My dear Hubster went away for the weekend and I decided to have a Craft-a-polooza. I finished all my ATC's for the swap and worked on a project for another swap I am in. While I was waiting for things to dry I decided to do a little side project for myself. I have had this idea for a while and just needed the time to do it. These were done with Copic markers on Illustration board.
So here it is. My Classic Movie Monster ATC set!!!!   Grin

I wanted to do a gray tone for the "flesh" and line drawing for the clothing. Then I wanted to do a plain sort of rainbow background.  I was super happy with how they turned out! Here they are individually.

Frank was my first one. I might add his bride next time I get some "me" time.

 The Invisible Man

 The Wolf Man

The Creature from the Black Lagoon. This one was a little weird cas he didn't have "clothes" so I just faded down so it would match the set of the others. The purple isn't as dark as it looks in this picture.

The Phantom of the Opera ended up being my favorite. I love his expression!

 The Prince of Darkness, Dracula!

And the Mummy! I tried to make his background "gold" to go along with the Egypt theme but it turned out more orangey.
These were all of the classic black and white movie monsters I could think of besides the Blob but I didn't think that one would turn out to well.  Tongue Let me know what you think or if you know one that I missed.
 Thanks for looking!
I found some free time to finish up the set. I added the Bride of Frankenstein!

Here is one I sent out for a swap a couple months ago too. I think I am going to remake this version of her for my own collection too.

259  Geisha Cards in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: June 05, 2012 01:38:48 PM
I made these cards for the MaF swap because my partner likes Japanese culture and imagery. I ended up having to buy a bunch of cards to get the shimmer "gold" background but I think the end result was pretty. I made a couple extra sets (I have two more sets to make) to send out to friends and family that still use the snail mail.
Here are the two cards together...

 The red one...

 and the pink one...

and just because - one with the envelope.

Hope you like them. They were my first cards. I am terrible at embellishing so I am starting slow. I bought some tiny brads to put on the pink one but chickened out.  Undecided  Maybe next time. I am hoping to be able to make my sister a bunch of random cards for Christmas so this will be the start of her set!
 Thanks for looking!

Jexxican - Awe, you must have lost the fun from being there so long. I love all the alien stuff!

Okay, today has been so rough for me and this package! My computer wouldn't turn on for over an hour after being "fixed" then 2 seconds after my last shot (trying to get my Baby Dahlia to pose for the camera) my battery dies! But I managed to get the shots I need so here it goes!
First up are some fun felt squares. I have been wanting to try some badges so this rocked! It's one of her favorite craft supplies. The fabric represents her favorite color combos and theme. I don't know if you can tell but the black one has gray koi fish. I love them all!

Next up is what TroubleT does to turnoff he brain. Sudoku! I love these but I don't have any.  She included some seeds for herbs - Rosemary, Thyme, and Organo. She uses these in her cooking. I am going to get pots and plant these this weekend. Quick question, do you plant them inside near the window or outside?
And a fantatic hummingbird bookmark. She loves to read and hummingbirds!

From her kitchen she sent me super yummy apple butter! Amazing! Your family is so lucky that you can make yummies like this! Also some treats for my babies. I will add a pic of Dahl playing with some. She looks like your Raven! And a Nom-nom friend! I have named her Petunia. She is so cute and well made, and one of my favorite colors - pink. I am sure your fund raiser at school was a huge success with these!

Thank yo so much TroubleT! This package was awesome and so much fun!
