221  Re: Make-a-Friend Round 10: The Gallery in The Swap Gallery by gozer on: July 08, 2013 06:12:32 PM
Whoa I just found this gallery! So many awesome things. I will comment on them all tomorrow but I stepped on my cats foot and he is really mad right now so I have to post this up quick! LOL!
I received from SmileyYogini today and everything is so fun and awesome - just like her!
First up is a super cute monster coin purse & monster buttons because we both love monsters! Lavender scented soap, yummy turtle coffee (I love caramel!!), some all natural cleaning product (my husband should get a kick out of this one! LOL!), and some beautiful purple nail polish!

Next up is a hilarious wood burning of a ninja sewing. Funny thing is that smileyYogini didn't know my hubby and I play ninja and jump out and scare each other all the time. I even have a ninja name.  Wink Love this wood burning! And a great ATC of Mrs. Addams knitting. We both do ATC's. Oh and that's the card she sent. We both love unicorns, I prefer fat ones. Ha!

okay, kitty is starting to kick me in my lap. His foot can't hurt that bad... I got this adorable zombie cat coin purse! I LOVE it. SO ADORABLE! And A FAT UNICORN!!!! LOL! Love the unicorn. She sculpted it herself.  ;Dcrochet

and last but not least... my very own crochet dish cloth. It will never be used as a dish cloth. I love it.

Thank you SO much SmileyYogini! Yours should be out tomorrow or Wednesday. I finished it up today!

Anubisheart got my package last week so I thought I would go ahead and post up what I sent her.
I made her this purse of Lock, Shock, and Barrel.

I hand drew & painted the front panel.

A Lock, Shock, and Barrel vase and a Oogie boogie cat toy. the side opens so you can put cat nip in it (which I included)

and I also added some glow in the dark Nightmare Before Christmas stickers and a deck of Tim Burton cards.

I received today from Anubisheart! It is an amazing package and I love everything!
First up she sent me this adorable stuffed Oogie Boogie!

and she included this awesome Lock, Shock, & Barrel stocking that I am sure I will stuff full this Christmas.

Next up a cool pair of eyeball earrings, a bat & skull keychain, and a bracelet inspired by the sand worms (my faves) from Beetlejuice.

Last but not least this Sandworm canvas! I love this one the most. It's already on my wall! How did you do it?? The pic is taken at an angle because I kept getting a glare, sorry.

I made another purse for a swap, the Tim Burton swap.
I hand painted and drew the characters on the front. I thought it turned out neat.

First time doing this pattern. It was pretty quick and easy. I might do more for Christmas but I have some other patterns to test first.

Challenge/Battle/Alert: May - Wordy - Haiku
Team/Ninja: team Monster
Project Geekdom (if any): Monsters. Lock, Shock and Barrel are kids dressed as monsters (and they act like little monsters too) from Nightmare Before Christmas.
Bonus Points: Nerdy, super nerdy, (maybe Discovery because I used a new pattern?)
Project Name: Lock, Shock, & Barrel Purse
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: (how it fits the requirements, pattern/techniques/recipe used, any fun tips, etc.)
I made this for the Burton swap last month but had to wait until my partner received before I could post it. I hand drew & painted the focus piece of Lock, Shock, and Barrel into the fabric.

 Lock, Shock, and Barrel
 like mischief, mayhem, and treats.
 The Boogie man calls.

Challenge/Battle/Alert: June Super Fan
Team/Ninja: Team Monster
Project Geekdom (if any): Oogie Boogie, the monsterous villain from Night mare Before Christmas.
Bonus Points: nerdy, super nerdy
Project Name: Oogie Boogie Cat Toy
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: (how it fits the requirements, pattern/techniques/recipe used, any fun tips, etc.)
The Super fan was suppose to be super detailed OR have a hidden aspect. The side of Oogie opens up to insert cat nip and drive your cats crazy! It sticks with Velcro and is hidden.  Wink

Challenge/Battle/Alert: June Multimedia - Disco
Team/Ninja: Team Monster
Project Geekdom (if any): Monster - kraken
Bonus Points: Discovery, nerdy, super nerdy
Project Name: The mermaid and the Kraken
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description:
I have been wanting to attempt a shadow box for a long time, since Kwality570 sent me an amazing one!  Wink I used a paper machete box I got from Michael's and cut out the top of the lid. I took these pictures before I put in the clear plastic piece to cover the front so I wouldn't get a glare. The background is glitter to represent the water. I also used shimmering water color on the mermaids tail for added, well shimmer. The Krakens tentacles have seed bead suction cups.
I was especially proud that I remembered to cover to mermaids boobies. I always show them but remembered it has to be PG13 for the games. Ha!

I got an amazing package from bethamusprime!
We both have a love for Fairy Tales. She loves Arial and I love Little Red Riding Hood. She sent me an awesome Red Riding Hood framed picture. She is already on my wall!

I took the picture at an angle trying to avoid the glare but it came out a bit dark. I will try to get a better pic. Sorry. The picture really is beautiful.
Then she made me a super fun Stay Puft painting. I am not sure if anyone knows this but I love Ghostbuster.  Wink

And she sent along some great extras too. I love Monster High and she sent me a bunch of stickers and a notebook of them along with a ton of Fun Dip! Yum! Two awesome puzzles. Love Star Wars!!! And some kitty treats. If you look closely I had to give them one of the mice to distract them long enough to get these pics. LOL!

Thanks so much Bethamusprime!!! I love everything!!!

The ruffled one is absolutely beautiful. Love the colors and all. It looks sweet and feminine.
I love the fabric on the last one with the black polka dotted background too. I like the idea of it expanding but only when you need it so it's not too bulky.
Wow! Making your own patterns. I bow down to you. That seems SO intimidating to me! The purses turned out great!

I made another purse too but forgot to post here. I posted on the purse board though. And I am currently (maybe) working on another one. The Halloween one is still in limbo. See, if it's for me it just never gets done.  Undecided But I still plan on working on it. I am going to cut back on swapping next month so I can get back to it. Here is the one I made for bunny1kenobi for the IYP swap...

Got this fabric from Spoonflower and we both had it pinned as fabric we loved...
,
I had to alter the pattern to fit the entire panel and I really stressed over it even though once I did it I realized it wasn't that big of a deal.
