211  Mermaid Moveable Paper Dolls in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: April 17, 2014 12:15:39 PM
I was recently in the Common Grounds 2 swap and my partner (PilarFarmer) and I both love mermaids. She had a lot of the moveable paper dolls on her Pinterest so I thought I would give it a try. I made one and had so much fun coloring and embellishing her that I make a book of sorts for Pilar to do the same. I printed out sheets of the outline in both black and sepia outlines onto thick cardstock and taped them together.
Here are the results! My doll was colored using Copic Markers then I painted over the tail with shimmering gold paint but I don't think the picture shows it very well.

and here is the booklet I made her opened so you can see the pages inside.

212  Mermaid Drawing in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by gozer on: April 17, 2014 12:10:02 PM
I drew this up for Pilarfarmer in the Common Grounds swap. She likes plus sized mermaids. I thought she turned out cute. As usual, it was done with Copics.

I didn't take pictures of everything together and I didn't get a pic of the stickers or the mermaid locket because I didn't make those but here is the rest.
Here is the moveable paperdoll I made her. I had a lot of fun making this one so I made her a coloring book style set of templates for her. I did them in black and sepia outlines.

I did her some art work of a mermaid too.

I saw this quote on her Pinterest and loved it. There is a tiny seashell attached to the top.

and lastly, a Pinky & the Brain wristlet. I got this fabric from my (fake) Aunt and love it. I am starting to run out though and can't find anymore. I loved this cartoon too! On the other side they are holding on to a rocket.

I hope you liked it half as much as I love your package. Yours was amazing!!!

I got the most awesome package ever from Pilarfarmer. I was so overwhelmed while I was opening it. Everything is so detailed and perfect.
First up is this amazing Red Riding Hood doll. She made it look like me! Isn't that SO sweet. Pilar is the most amazing partner!!

and my cute little kitties are in the basket!!!!

That would be Venkman, Dahlia and (the real) Gozer.
She didn't stop there. We both love mermaids. I am decorating my bathroom in them. She sent me this amazing doll for our mermaid love.

Detail shot

and here are my two ladies together

we both also love cats, and sewing. She made these adorable buttons!

And  there is even more. She sent me an altered matchbox full of sea glass. It looks like a book! Along with a cool mermaid domino pendant necklace.

And last but not least, an awesome steampunk top hat! You can tell the matchbook is decorated like I book better in this pic.
Thank you so much Pilar! Everything was absolutely amazing. I am super lucky to have gotten you for a partner. I love everything!!!

I actually have no idea what color the sonic screwdriver is and my husband wasn't home to tell me so I did this in my trusted B&W.  Tongue  I'll try for a color version when he has time to help me pick colors. Ha!

Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: Ok, Pi is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. So I went with a circle. Trust me, you don't want me to try anything math-like.  Wink  Also, it's kind of a magic number and the witch can do magic! That is the Wicked Witch from the Wizard of Oz if you can't tell.

And with that I think I am done for tonight. Thanks for bearing with me.

219  Re: Monster Swap Round 5 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by gozer on: March 11, 2014 04:12:39 PM
I cannot gush enough. I got the most amazing package ever from Calixita today. Absolutely fantastic! I am still in awe over it! Here it is still wrapped up. Even the box it came in had tentacles and monster paws!

and opened. The card is SO adorable!

Now let me explain what each thing is. First up is an incredible Frankenstein hand sanitizer cozy.

Calixita knows I love Frankenstein and his Bride, especially his bride. She made me this absolutely fantastic peyote stitched bracelet of the bride!!! It is beyond gorgeous!!! Absolutely stunning. I love it SO much! And the bookmark is perfect too. I read a lot so this will get plenty of use!

then she sent me the cutest thing ever. It is a little monster in my favorite color, gray, and he holds different items for the season/holiday! Isn't that clever! I am taking him to work. He will sit next to my monster calendar I got from Kwality570.
Here he is holding the Easter egg. Oh, and the mask is for Halloween so he can dress as a human! Too funny!

Absolutely amazing package Calixita. Absolutely! I loved everything!!!! Thank you so much!

Battle/Challenge:  March - Clone Wars
Team: Wordy
Bonus Points:
Project Name: Monster wallet
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: I saw this on Calixita's Pinterest board and tried to make it for her in the Monster Swap. Epic fail but I sent it anyways to show I made the effort. She said she liked it. It was my first time sewing with suede and it didn't do exactly as I expected. Lesson learned. My next attempt will be better! Wink
Project Picture:
Here is the original off her Pinterest
and my botched attempt. We can't always win.  Tongue
