Battle/Challenge:  May Mob - Mother's Day
Team: Wordy
Bonus Points: ---
Project Name: Mother's Day Purse
Project Page Link (if available): http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=433429.0#axzz31Rb6JQEH
Brief Description: I have been sewing for a while and just recently my Mom asked me for a purse. I feel like a threshold has been crossed. LOL! She really liked the octopus bag I made until she noticed the octopus.  Tongue  So we went to the fabric store and she picked out some pretty batik fabric so I could make her one. This was her Mother's Day present. I told her I wouldn't have it done in time and surprised her today.

22  Mother's Day Purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: May 11, 2014 02:36:25 PM
My Mom saw the other purses that I made and asked me to make her a purse for Mother's Day. She has never asked for a purse before so I was really excited to make her one. We went to the store and she picked out the fabrics. I thought they were very pretty. I told her I wouldn't get the zippers in on time but I did (thank you zipit zippers!) and was able to have it finished and surprise her.  Grin
I gave it to her about an hour ago and she was surprised and really liked it.

The wall is light blue so it makes the colors a little weird.

Here is the outside pocket with the magnetic snaps.

Outside in the garden, liked the colors better out here.

and with the straps down...

I already have my next bag picked out. I can't wait to do another pattern. LOL!
 Thanks for looking.  Smiley

23  Octopus & Alice Cross body bags in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: May 08, 2014 08:02:46 AM
I made these two purses for recent swaps. The pattern is pretty simple but I had the hardest time understanding it at first. I was told it was written for quilters and I have never quilted so I found it really confusing. Also there was only one pattern piece and you had to measure everything else out yourself. That drove me bonkers. After I figured out the first one the second one went WAY quicker and was worlds less frustrating.
The first one was for the IYP swap and it is a damask fabric with octopus on it. The patterns called for the fabric over the zipper and the fabric under the zipper to be different with different colored zippers on each side. I thought it looked a little classier with the same fabric above and below the zipper. One side has the cream zipper the other a matching blue. There are two pockets on the outside and then two additional zippered pockets out there. The inside had a pocket too.

I borrowed these pics from my partner, Luckdragon.

Blue zipper side

Front Pocket

Inside

For this one I for the Fairy Tale swap and made the outside pockets a little taller to get more of the Alice in Wonderland fabric in. Both straps are adjustable and this one has the same colored zipper on both sides.

and this one is from Cryssoleil's posting too.

My mom really liked them both an asked that I make her one for Mother's Day. She picked a beautiful batik fabric and I will post that one up when I get it done.
  Thanks for looking!

Battle/Challenge:  April - Now your cookin'
Team: wordy
Bonus Points: ---
Project Name: meat loaf casserole
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description:  I don't cook. if I have to cook dinner it is very basic food and always on a George Forman grill. It got boring. Chicken or pork chops with a side of instant mashed potatoes and corn/green beans depending on the day. Every day. I decided that I want to start making more casserole type dinners. Tonight was my first attempt. Got this recipe from the Campbell's soup site. It was actually really yummy. There was the meat and stuff at the bottom and that is a mashed potato concoction on top.  Tongue  Had to keep the mashed potatoes or my family would not have believed I made it.

25  Re: IYP (invite your partner) 25 - Silver Jubilee Gallery in The Swap Gallery by gozer on: May 07, 2014 05:03:55 PM
I partnered up with our gracious organizer, Luckdragon!!
When we talked about partnering she mentioned making me this super fun fox scarf that she had made for the Raffle swap. It is SO cute. Even though I HATE the cold I can't wait for it to get chilly again so I can wear this!

Then she surprised me with this beautiful Red Riding Hood embroidered necklace. It is even more gorgeous in person. I always wanted an embroidered necklace and now I have one - and it RRH!!! Even better!!!

And last but not least she made me the most incredible hoop. I love Bill Murray. Love him. I have a cat named Venkman and my user name is a Ghostbusters reference so I obviously love him.  Tongue I never expected this. LOVE it!!!! It looks so great! You did such an amazing job Luckdragon! I love it!!!

and here is the card she sent me with her reference picture. Amazing job. Truly fantastic!!!

Thank you so much! I love everything and had a lot of fun with this swap!

26  Hand Drawn Pendant Necklaces in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: May 04, 2014 02:38:54 PM
I am currently not involved in any swaps. I lack motivation without a deadline.  Tongue  So today I decided I would make some pendants just to get me doing something. I told my friend and she had a request of a unicorn one. I did cats and a bunny too cas I have those. Ha.

Here they all are together. The smaller ones are 1" across. The larger unicorn one is 38 mm across. The chains are 24".

I liked this little kitty upside down. It reminds me of my cats while they nap.
,
The unicorn for my friend (Kwality570 who is giving it to another friend)

I didn't realize how much I loved foxes until I started pinning things for another swap.  Wink

I love bunnies. I have one and he is the most adorable thing ever!
,
 Cats in glasses.

and I random little mushroom.  Grin
Feels good to have gotten something done today!

MissLovely, your Filler Bunny is awesome. I am a HUGE JTHM fan. Love him! Not a big fan of Invader Zim though. Happy Noodle Boy - Hilarious!
Those are very sassy aprons  pishaw13. They would almost make me want to cook, if I wouldn't risk dirtying them.
Smeddley your dragon is very cute. I just noticed his little toenails!!

28  Re: Fairy Tale Swap Gallery in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by gozer on: May 01, 2014 04:09:14 PM
Cryssoleil, you had swap anxiety??? What? That is absolutely crazy with the AMAZING package you sent. I absolutely LOVE everything!!!! If I would have gotten yours first I would have freaked out! Seriously.
I opened my package and first off I see this cute little box. I thought it was funny because we used almost the same flowers on top.  Wink

Inside the box were these two super cute snails. One is decorated beautifully and the other one if for me to decorate. They are fridge magnets too! Also included was an absolutely adorable birds nest necklace.  Cheesy

One of the snails was hiding inside this amazing mushroom. It's a little container! And in my favorite colors!! It's already sitting on my kitchen windowsill.  Wink I got a beautiful shambala style bracelet too with a cool wolf charm.

She included this stunning card made from a page of her art journal. The mermaids are so beautiful! I love the card. She included a cool Red Riding Hood moveable sticker too.

There is still more!!! This amazing mermaid art work! It looks like it is done in pastels, color pencil, and paint. It shimmers. LOVE her!!!

and last but not least..... This phenomenal fairy door!!!!!!!!!! It is so amazing. All the details! I love it so much, so much! It already has a spot on my soon to be fairy shelf in my bedroom. I am completely in awe of this. It is so breathtaking.
Thank you so much Cryssoleil. I love my package so much. It's unbelievable.  Grin

30  Mermaid Moveable Paper Dolls in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: April 17, 2014 12:15:39 PM
I was recently in the Common Grounds 2 swap and my partner (PilarFarmer) and I both love mermaids. She had a lot of the moveable paper dolls on her Pinterest so I thought I would give it a try. I made one and had so much fun coloring and embellishing her that I make a book of sorts for Pilar to do the same. I printed out sheets of the outline in both black and sepia outlines onto thick cardstock and taped them together.
Here are the results! My doll was colored using Copic Markers then I painted over the tail with shimmering gold paint but I don't think the picture shows it very well.

and here is the booklet I made her opened so you can see the pages inside.
