191  Re: Ongoing ATC Swap - June 2012 - GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by gozer on: July 12, 2012 06:52:36 AM
I got the most amazing ATC's from Spikefan! I am framing the Gizmo. He is too cute for words. I adore this little guy! So well done and amazing! LOVE,LOVE,LOVE it!

And she didn't know it but yeti's are one of my favorites! I keep telling my husband I want a snushed faced cat and I will name him Yeti. He tells me to hold me breath. Hmmm. I think he is planning to surprise me one day.  Roll Eyes
Either way, this card is adorable. He looks like the kid who comes up to the playground and is figuring out who to go play with.  Cheesy

Hey jillybeans, I think we have cousin cards!

192  New Style for June! in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by gozer on: July 06, 2012 06:38:04 PM
For June I wanted to try out a new style and not do my typical pin-up girl type ATC's that I have been doing for a while. They are fun, I am sure I will do more. I just wanted to switch it up some and try something new. I found and became enthralled with distressing ink.  Tongue
PS. I did the Movie Monster set right after Wednesday Addams.
Here is what I did for the June ATC swap.

I love Being Human BBC and when I saw spikefan had this theme I knew had to do it. Tom is such an adorable character! In case you don't watch (which you should) Tom is a werewolf and hunts vampires with a stake. Hence his name on a stake.

Negaduck, the doppelganger of Darkwing Duck. I owed bunny1kenobi this one for a while.

For wandering men of grief. I wanted a ghost sort of effect on him. Like he is fading in his grief. Still out on whether I like it or not...

Wednesday Addams. I liked how she turned out.  Smiley

I was dying just to regular draw by now. Ha! This is called "F U R2".

jillybeans has the theme "objects with legs". While I was in my need to draw phase a picked her and kept thinking of stories for them. This is C.C. (Compogno Clean) she is determined to escape the kitchen and the dish towel keeps telling her it will never happen. We will see!

And this is Debbie doing a few drunk dials, old skool. Notice the distressing ink. LOL!
For a fantasy landscape I tried to use distressing ink for the background (I haven't given up on this idea yet. I just need to work on it a bit more). I cut the road and buildings out. Not my favorite but it wasn't instantly recognisable as mine (at least I don't think so?) and that was one of my goals.

Back to the new style I was trying out this month. I was playing around with different backgrounds and cutting them out to give them some extra depth. Edward from Twilight. My husband laughed at me! Ha!

I think Jasper came out better. You can tell he is raised up from the background in this picture. I tried to make the background look like splattered and smeared blood. Again, the husband told me it was a fail but the card was good.  Roll Eyes

I had to use deathbeforedishes pictures for these. If I can find mine I will switch them out. This is my polar owl. For some reason I thought he looked like a penguin so I added penguins in the background so you could tell the difference. I got fancy with BLUE destressing ink here.

and I work for an Italian company so I had to do an Italian one. No idea why he looks so mean. No idea what so ever. Lalalala.  Wink
Thanks for checking them out! I am hoping to work on my backgrounds more in the next couple months. Hopefully they will improve!

193  "Work Your Theme" ATC Swap Round 2 SU Closed - send by 8/21/12 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by gozer on: June 27, 2012 04:23:07 PM
Work Your Theme ATC Swap Round 2

Sign ups 06/27 - 07/21
Send outs 08/21

Hey Everyone! This swap is for those of us ATC-ers with a theme or who want to start a theme! All themes are welcome from spelling out names, countdowns, specific colors, ABCs (Just think, you can finally get that last letter of the alphabet you have been eagerly waiting for someone to claim!), or anything else you can dream up!
You can finish up a theme or start a new one, like me.

We will aim for groups of 4 so you will be creating and sending 3 ATCs each. If you are a bit more adventurous or need more cards sign up for multiple groups!

Please note that this will be a challenging swap. Some of the themes submitted by each member may include the last few remaining cards to complete the theme, such as an X in an ABC theme. In other words, cards that no one else wanted to claim during past swaps! I will make groups and let you claim within the groups unless there is a specific request and I will try to assign those before the claiming.

194  Sharpie Bike!! Awesome hubby let me have fun! in Completed Projects by gozer on: June 27, 2012 03:04:13 PM

I am not really sure were to put this so I am guessing Miscellaneous will cover it.  Wink
I got a phone call at work a couple Fridays ago from my husband asking me to Sharpie his bike. Eek! Sounded fun and nerve wracking all at once. I was under the impression that he just wanted a whole bunch of squiggles and grafitti and that we would both be doing it. Wrong. After we got all the Sharpie's he started asking me to actually DRAW on it. Completely different. Oh, and needed it ready by the morning!
Here is a picture of the bike before, almost. Just regular silver. but I had already done his car club logo on it. We forgot about before pics until it was almost too late.

Here is the "A" on the table. The pieces were all wonky in shape. Very weird to work with...

This is the front. My Hubby did the writing. The one thing I refused to do was write on it. My handwriting is beyond horrible. It was funny to watch him write on it because he kept saying not to be nervous and I was being silly. He wrote out the CBR about twenty times before writing it on the bike, then declared he ruined the entire thing. LOL! He did fine.  Wink

I added a sort of matching girl on the tank...

After I did her I may have cried a little. They are not my best work and the thought of people seeing them made me really upset. That and I was super tired at this point. Now I am more at peace with the whole thing. Notice the glove on one hand only. Ha! It's so hard to just draw and not lay down a sketch before hand!

The next day he got up bright and early and went to the how. I stayed in bed recovering. He brought home this and gave it to me for my help. The pic is really bad as I had just woken up and was trying to paint a swap project in my lap. Notice the Sharpie pack still in my lap. LOL!

After a very stressful day (can't my family just get a break this year?), I came home to find two wonderful ATC's in my mailbox. I really want to say thank you to everyone in this swap. This year has been a roller coaster for my family and some times getting a little piece of fun in the mail can mean the world. Thank you guys!
Okay, enough sap. Here are the goods!
First up, the ever talented Kwality570. I adore these guys. I could collect an entire binder full of them and still never have enough! Thank you for Quincy. He wil have a wonderful home next to the other monsters! PS. Love the backgrounds. Are you playing with Distressing ink? I love it!

Next is from Rosie1981. Awe. Poor little guy needs a hug! I love satyrs and this one is perfect. I think he is faking sad so we will all follow him into the woods and to our doom. Sneaky little fellow! But who could resist? Wink

197  Work Your Theme ATC Swap Round 2? in New Swap Theme Ideas by gozer on: June 20, 2012 12:14:10 PM
I was thinking of starting up a round 2 of the Work Your Theme ATC Swap. Everyone seems to be missing one or two cards to complete a set or you could start a whole new set, that's what I am going to do.  Wink
You could finally get that letter Z to complete your alphabet! LOL!
Anyone interested in another round? I was thinking of posting sign ups within a week or two and having it start around the 23rd of July.
 What does everyone think?

198  Re: Make-a-Friend Swap Round 9 :: Summer 2012 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by gozer on: June 15, 2012 05:17:16 PM
All the packages so far are amazing!
I got Package 2 from TroubleT on Wednesday but this is the first chance I have had to post it. She is awesome!
First the group shot...

I am completely obsessed with list writing and have about five seperate notebooks in my purse at all time. I just write everything down, twice. LOL! She gave me a notebook and an awesome notebook cover. I love it. It's small enough to slip in my purse but not too small that one thought fills up a page. And it has little pockets on the front and back cover. Love that!
Here is a close up of it. It has a snap closure. It is on the super fantastic comic book fabric that she sent me! The fabric has Spider-Man, Thor, Iron Man, and all the rest. I am a huge comic book geek. This fabric ROCKS!!!

and she also added a get started kit for hooplas! I always see the coolest hooplas on Craftster. I have wanted to try them but I had no idea what you were suppose to do really. SHe has the BEST tuts on her website and all those different stitches look so doable when she explains them! HA! We will see. I have always wanted a Gizmo hoopla but I think I will start with attempting a Stay Puft guy. I think he would be a touch easier.
I got a hoop, lots of thread, embroidery needles, Crayons (who knew you used Crayons?!) and some fabric.

 Can't wait to start!
Thank you TroubleT. This box was so awesome. Have fun on your trip!

I feel so bad for that elephant! He does NOT look confident! LOL! Great card though!

I got an amazing card from bunny1kenobi. Not only does she have a kick a$$ user name she has mad skills with this ultra adorable card. I squealed when I opened it. The picture doesn't do it justice because the background is almost an irridecent and shimmers so nicely against the picture of this cute little satyr. His name is Pan so he has to be a satyr  Wink. He even has a blush of freckles! Really awesome job. I love him! Thank you so much!

I used to use a cigar box too! Then my cat got jealous and knocked it off the shelf and broken the hinges.  Undecided
 So I got this!

I was super specific that I had to have THIS one. I love it. Oh, and that is my kitty, Dahlia inspecting it. ** She is not the one that broke the original box. Having her picture here makes her look so guilty though **

It has built in folders to keep cool papers and clippings. It also has a shoulder strap so I can take it to my parents house to show my Mom. She is an art teacher and likes to see all the cards I get!

Here is a sampling of one of the pages. I plan on reorganizing them to put the picture of the artist with their cards. My Husband did the center one and my step-son did the one to the left of it. Neither did them by choice, but I told them if you want a favor done you need to get to work on a card! Wink
