161  Valentine's Day Heart Bags in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: February 03, 2014 05:53:58 PM
These were so cute and simple I thought I would share them on here. It took no time at all and I was able to use all stash fabrics!  Cheesy
My husband's nick name is Cupcake and I found some not too girly fabric that said Cupcakery on it a while ago and finally got to use it! I am going to fill them with Hershey's Kisses.  Kiss

I made one for my husband (as mentioned above), step-son, Mom, Dad, and sister.
Hope everyone has a fantastic Valentine's Day!!!!

Project Name: Red Riding Hood necklace
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: I am a huge Red Riding Hood fan. My husband agreed to let me do the living room in her theme. I got some amazing artwork off Etsy and they sent me a business card with the art on it as well. I have never done these necklaces and really want to try it. I got instructions of Pinterest and cut up the business card to come up with this!
I love it! I see more necklaces in my future. These are so fun to make.

Okay, got my purse done! I used a wintery gray swirled fabric for the majority of the purse. I thought gray was very "wintery". I used a dark red for the accent color. My Nana used to love cardinals and she always put out a bunch of cardinal stuff when it got cold.
I hope you guys like it. It has layers of ruffles on the front, a magnetic closure, and pockets on the inside. The back interior pocket have elastic to keep your stuff (cellphones, cameras, etc) safe and sound and easy to find. There is also a larger open pocket on the other side. I used a beige colored fabric for the inside to make it easier to find thing in. I like a lighter color fabric for my interiors.  Smiley

I will fill out my questionnaire now! LOL!

166  Re: OT Literary Thing and A Used Paperback Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by gozer on: February 02, 2014 12:00:38 PM
Hey there everyone! I received from Ludi on Friday and I know everyone wants to see what she made!  Wink  And trust me she did not disappoint!

She send me H.P.Lovecraft The Horror in the Museum. I can't wait to start this. I have always had a curiosity about Lovecraft so now I will be able to try him out.

For that OTT she made me an amazing embroidered necklace book. It has a cat on it, which I absolutely LOVE. Ludi's embroidery is so phenomenal. I can't believe I actually got a piece of it!
Thank you so much! I love it all. I got the book I am sending out on Saturday so I should be sending on Monday. Hope you like what I made even half as much as I love what you made Ludi!!!

Love Annie Lennox. I can listen to "walking on broken glass" over and over and over. Beautiful art journal page. It has such a soft feel with the colors.

Battle/Challenge: January - 20 Sided Dice
Team: Wordy
Bonus Points:
Project Name: Scrappy Fabric Bracelets
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: I chose my favorite number, three, which just so happens to be the number of cats I have.  Wink I used LesliesHappyHeart's pattern for these cute bracelets. Here is a like to her tutorial http://lesliesartandsew.blogspot.com/2011/12/scrappy-braided-fabric-bracelet.html
They are so easy and fun to make! There are THREE bracelets each with THREE strands of fabric. You basically braid them. I was able to use my stash once again except for the rose buttons. I saw them and couldn't resist!

168  Brown Eyed Girl in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by gozer on: January 21, 2014 07:11:44 AM
I am participating in the Winter Nerd Battles and they are a ton of fun. If you haven't heard of them check out the link below. You can start whenever.

The goal is to get as many badges as you can by fulfilling the prompts for each month. I love it because it pushes me out of my comfort zone to try new things sometimes and also motivates me to work on things.
One of the challenges was to do something based on your own personal theme song. Bunny1kenobi was kind enough to help me brain storm and she came up with "Brown Eyed Girl" (I prefer the Lagwagon version), since I am in fact Brown Eyed.
Here is what I came up with.

I just happen to love drawing bunnies so a bunny got included.
Done in Copics, of course.  Tongue
 Thanks for looking!

wendiek  Ah, Thanks! I love it on Craftster! It's my happy place.  Cheesy
Vincentvanbuck, that painting is fantastic! I love that you did a painting of a picture you took. The angles were really hard and you did an amazing job of it. Where did you hang it?

Battle/Challenge:  January - Theme Song

Bonus Points:
Project Name: Brown Eyed Girl
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description:  I have to thank Bunny1kenobi for the idea of the theme song. Actually an ex used to play the Lagwagon version as my song. I, of course, have brown eyes.  Wink I have been on a drawing kick lately so here is my latest rendering. Once again in Copic markers.

Battle/Challenge:  January Battle - Sea!
Team: wordy
Bonus Points:
Project Name: Mermaid Pot Holder
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: Since I had the fabric out and it was pretty much chopped up from the apron I decided to use what was left to make a quick project to show my support for the SEA! I had the heat insulation stuff from a previous pot holder I made for a swap and the 100% cotton batting as well. Everything came from my stash for the last THREE project! Way to go for stash busting and making things I actually needed with it!!! The second picture makes it look uneven but I was actually really excited on how square it was. I think it's the angle of the picture. I was dodging cats.
