151  Re: Woodland Creature & Enchanted Forest Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by gozer on: July 01, 2014 07:03:57 AM
I got my amazing package from Kwality570 on Friday but life has been super crazy. I actually brought my pics to work so I could post on my break.  Tongue
She sent me the most amazing and wonderful package ever. I wanted things to enchant my kitchen and specifically asked for stuff for my windowsill.
I got two adorable little snails to sit and peek out.  Cheesy

Then I got these three amazing mushroom and house pots for over the sink. I absolutely love these. My sister is going to be so jealous too!

Close up!

Then she included some amazing art work for the kitchen wall. So far I only have a painting of a pair that my future SIL made me but I want to fill it up with bright whimsical things. This is perfect!
And she also embroidered the most adorable fox magnet for me! I had no idea you embroidered Kwality! This turned out SO cute. I love him!!!

and last but definitely NOT least. This amazing Fairy door!

I love the little window. It is staying in my kitchen. It's so cute! Now I have two fairy doors! I want to put them all over my house. Thank you so much for such an amazing package Kwality570. I love everything SO much!!!!!

Oh my gosh! There are so many great projects on here! I am on a limited amount of time so I will come back and comment on them. But I need to post up mine for Team wordy real quick. I have been waiting for my partner to receive and she did today so here goes.....
Prompt:  June - Take a Hike
Team: WORDY!
Event:  Fabricology
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Fox Scarf
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: My partner for the WC&EF swap and I are long time friends. We complained all Winter about how we hated the cold. So I hoped that she could remember how awesome the warm weather is later in the year when it gets cold again by making her this cute fox scarf.
Project Picture:

Prompt:  June - Where's Waldo
Event: Fabricology
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Tattoo Purse
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I had to remake this purse a couple times because I couldn't find the exact interfacing they were asking for. I searched on line and three fabric stores. Oh well. I had enough of the focus fabric (Tattoo) to make another but I had to scour my stash for the interior. PS. Yes, Bunny1, this is the purse I need to send to you. LOL! Hope you like it.
Project Picture:

Prompt:  June - Best things in life
Event: Fabricology
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Scrappy Owl Coin Purse
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: This entire project was make of scraps I would normally have tossed away. The wood grain came from the deer project (it's coming up) and the rest is from the purse I made my Mom for Mother's Day. This was for my sisters friend for her b-day.
Project Picture:

Prompt: June - Button Up
Event:  Fabricology
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Owl Coin Purse
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: If you can't tell, the eyes are buttons. Simple enough.  Wink My sister saw this one and asked for the one above.
Project Picture:

Prompt:  June - onomatopeia
Event: Fabricology
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Who-hoo? Purse
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: Onomatopeia... Hoo! I made this purse for the Woodland Creature and Enchanted Forest Swap. I completely make up the pattern. My first time just winging it.  Cool I was proud. It has an adjustable strap too!
Project Picture:

Prompt:  June - Battle Royal - Scissors.
Event:  Fabricology
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Deer Hot Pad
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I found this super cute pattern for a fox hot pad. I already had a fox project for the WC&EC swap. I looked around a bit for something with a deer and then just decided to make it up myself! I drew out the deer a few times to get it right. Used my trusty scissors a lot.  Wink My hubby thought it was a cat at first. LOL! I think it's recognizable now. Hopefully!
Project Picture:

Okay, that should be all of them for the month! Gotta run. The hub called and he is on his way and I promised I would heat up the oven.....

I have a couple other things done but I am sending out tomorrow and will post them up here as soon as they arrive at their destination. I wanted to post this in case I forgot and didn't get it in this month.

Prompt:  June Flashmob
Team: Wordy!
Event: Paperology
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Longmire bookmark
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: My Dad is completely hooked on Longmire. It's his favorite show and he has been reading the books too. For Fathers Day I got him a gift card so he can get more of the books (he reads them so fast no one can keep track of which one he is on). I thought that just a gift card would look like I didn't put enough effort into it so I made him this bookmark too (and took him to dinner). I used Manga Paper (or thick marker paper), Copic markers, Copic pen, and distressing ink ink (red, tea, and black) and sealed it with clear coat. He seemed to really like it.

MissLovely - the salad looks scrumptious but that cake takes the cake. Mmmm. Strawberries! Neat cards. I like the flower one best. Very sweet.

Battle/Challenge:  May UFO
Team: Wordy
Bonus Points: Gold
Project Page Link (if available): http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=433287.0#axzz31ce5M3N3
Brief Description: (how it fits the requirements, pattern/techniques/recipe used, any fun tips, etc.) I waited to post this because I was choosing between two prompts. I drew this out in the circle a while ago but never inked it up so it was a UFO. It reminded me of a cat from a book, The Survivors Book I: Summer by V.L Dreyer. It's a good book.  Wink But I found a different project for the book prompt so this is my UFO. It's gold.  Cheesy

The weather is getting warmer and the forest is starting to wake up from its winters nap. Foxes and owls are scurrying about while being watched intently by the fairies and gnomes. Now is the perfect time to celebrate this.
Bring your love of Woodland Creatures and Enchanted Forest alive in a craft swap! This swap will be for 1 Medium and 2 smalls. You can spoil but please communicate this with your partner.
There has been a bit of confusion as to what is a large, medium, and small item.  So here's a handy dandy guide.  This is a guideline ONLY: a rough estimate of sizes described by time it takes to make package, by physical size and by cost:

By Time
-Large = 3 or more hours
-Medium = 2 or more hours
-Small = 2 or less hours

By Size
-Large = A shawl, a shirt, a skirt, a set of jewelry with four to five items, a purse
-Medium = one single necklace or bracelet, a scarf
-Small = Earrings, stickers, wallets, pouches, bookmarks

By Price
-Large = $30 or more
-Medium = $10-$30 dollars
-Small = $10 or less

No one like to be flaked on, so if you aren't sure if you can do this swap, don’t sign up.
If you know you will be late or unable to complete the swap please let us know ASAP.
Communication is a must. Everyone is required to post up on the thread at least once a week to let us know they are still involved with the swap. If you do not post up it will be noted in your feedback. If you are going on vacation or will be away from the internet just let us know.

Battle/Challenge:  May Mob - Mother's Day
Team: Wordy
Bonus Points: ---
Project Name: Mother's Day Purse
Project Page Link (if available): http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=433429.0#axzz31Rb6JQEH
Brief Description: I have been sewing for a while and just recently my Mom asked me for a purse. I feel like a threshold has been crossed. LOL! She really liked the octopus bag I made until she noticed the octopus.  Tongue  So we went to the fabric store and she picked out some pretty batik fabric so I could make her one. This was her Mother's Day present. I told her I wouldn't have it done in time and surprised her today.

158  Mother's Day Purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: May 11, 2014 02:36:25 PM
My Mom saw the other purses that I made and asked me to make her a purse for Mother's Day. She has never asked for a purse before so I was really excited to make her one. We went to the store and she picked out the fabrics. I thought they were very pretty. I told her I wouldn't get the zippers in on time but I did (thank you zipit zippers!) and was able to have it finished and surprise her.  Grin
I gave it to her about an hour ago and she was surprised and really liked it.

The wall is light blue so it makes the colors a little weird.

Here is the outside pocket with the magnetic snaps.

Outside in the garden, liked the colors better out here.

and with the straps down...

I already have my next bag picked out. I can't wait to do another pattern. LOL!
 Thanks for looking.  Smiley

159  Octopus & Alice Cross body bags in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: May 08, 2014 08:02:46 AM
I made these two purses for recent swaps. The pattern is pretty simple but I had the hardest time understanding it at first. I was told it was written for quilters and I have never quilted so I found it really confusing. Also there was only one pattern piece and you had to measure everything else out yourself. That drove me bonkers. After I figured out the first one the second one went WAY quicker and was worlds less frustrating.
The first one was for the IYP swap and it is a damask fabric with octopus on it. The patterns called for the fabric over the zipper and the fabric under the zipper to be different with different colored zippers on each side. I thought it looked a little classier with the same fabric above and below the zipper. One side has the cream zipper the other a matching blue. There are two pockets on the outside and then two additional zippered pockets out there. The inside had a pocket too.

I borrowed these pics from my partner, Luckdragon.

Blue zipper side

Front Pocket

For this one I for the Fairy Tale swap and made the outside pockets a little taller to get more of the Alice in Wonderland fabric in. Both straps are adjustable and this one has the same colored zipper on both sides.

and this one is from Cryssoleil's posting too.

My mom really liked them both an asked that I make her one for Mother's Day. She picked a beautiful batik fabric and I will post that one up when I get it done.
  Thanks for looking!

Things are a little hectic right now but I should be able to comment on all the amazing posts tomorrow.

Battle/Challenge:  April - Now your cookin'
Team: wordy
Bonus Points: ---
Project Name: meat loaf casserole
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description:  I don't cook. if I have to cook dinner it is very basic food and always on a George Forman grill. It got boring. Chicken or pork chops with a side of instant mashed potatoes and corn/green beans depending on the day. Every day. I decided that I want to start making more casserole type dinners. Tonight was my first attempt. Got this recipe from the Campbell's soup site. It was actually really yummy. There was the meat and stuff at the bottom and that is a mashed potato concoction on top.  Tongue  Had to keep the mashed potatoes or my family would not have believed I made it.
