111  Ellie Travel Cases in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: June 14, 2015 11:04:27 AM
I found this free pattern on line and decided to try it.
http://fabricmutt.blogspot.com/2014/01/ellie-travel-case-tutorial.html
Here's what I came up with.

I made two bags for the Summer Games. The pattern was really good and clear. The zipper was a little tricky due to the thickness and the curves, just go slow and you'll be fine if you decide to attempt it. It was the first time I had done straps like this too. I pinned the edge of the fabric down until I had my needle firmly in it to keep it from unfolding.

To help it go faster I made them at the same time.

I got lots of help setting the zippers in. That's Venkman inspecting them. I call him quality control.,
And here is a pic of getting the second side of the zipper. Sorry about the cat butt, he is always right next to me.
I don't recommend doing the zipper with the bit of linen showing. I did both ways and the one with the linen showing had a weird pucker to it.
Here's the first one I finished. I have had this abstract bird fabric in my stash forever and thought it would work well with this project.

The inside is a blue polka dot. I liked that the bird showed on top too.

For the second one I bought this fabric when I got the linen. I thought it was really pretty. A classy pretty instead of the normal flashier stuff I do. Cheesy Front & back.
],.
The inside was a soft yellow-ish beige with white polka dots.

These pics are just for size reference and to show off my beautiful Dahlia.

 Thanks for checking them out!

I love his posture. Too cute. Thanks so much Kwality570!!!!

114  Christmas Cat Tags in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: June 09, 2015 12:12:12 PM
It's June so we all know what that means, half way til Christmas! Wink LOL!
I do my shopping year round and this month on the Summer Games the Battle is creepy vs cute. Don't know what the Games are? Check it out here...

They are super fun and really get your creative juices flowing. You can join any time and right now is perfect since the Games just started.  Wink
Anyhoo... back to what I was saying. I decided to go ahead and make tags for my Christmas gifts. I wanted to make them myself this year to be a bit more personal (and possibly because I am cheap).
Here's the finished results. I plan to double stick tape the backs of them or punch holes to dangle them depending on the package.

I started off with the sketch in the top center and placed it under the other sheets and traced it and added different themes to it. Bunny1kenobi helped me come up with ideas (thanks Bestie!).

Then I scanned it into the computer and traced them all in Photoshop. Sure there was an easier way but I am not great at Photoshop so this was how it was done.  Tongue

I colored them in, which wasn't as easy as I thought, and then shrunk them down so they would equal three across.

Then I printed them on cardstock and cut them out! I normally use markers to color everything so this was a different result for me. I thought they turned out cute. Cute was my goal.  Wink
 Thanks for checking them out!

Oh my gosh. I just wrote out this long love all the cards soliloquy and Craftster hiccupped or something.  Cry Okay, well I love all the cards. Everything is amazing.
I got a couple great cards on Sunday but forgot to bring them to work to scan on Monday so I am posting them now.
This first one is from the lovely and talented ArtsyCandice. She chose my cute animals smoking cigarettes theme and this little bun-bun has attitude to spare. He looks like the bunny that steals all the other bunnies carrot money. Adorable. Thanks ArtsyCandice!

Then I got a bunch of cards from my bestie Bunny1kenobi. I'd like to throw out a special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her today! She also chose my cute animals smoking cigarettes theme. She knows I like octopus so she decided to show just how addictive the smokes can be by having an octopus smokin' in the ocean.

Next up is this adorable monster buddies card. I think I am the orange one! That looks like my nose Wink Love the eyes on the singing purple one.

and last but not least she combined a couple of my themes. Bunny1kenobi and I have been on Team Wordy for **cough cough** years. LOL! If you don't know about the Summer Games hop over and check them out! They are a ton of fun and you can join at any time. Right now is a great time because it just started though.

She made me a card with our team on it and it's a bookmark! It has a magnetic closure so it stays put. Awesome!

and as an added bonus she knows I am a huge RRH fan and that's the book on the cover! How clever.

Thank you both so much! I love all the cards!!!!

Last night I came home to discover a sick kitty. It was a rough night and all is well today. The bright spot was finding this awesome card in the mailbox!
I love Pioneer9's bunny cards. They are SO cute! I have a wall in my kitchen that I am filling up with random whimsical artwork, kind of collage style. This is going up there! Thanks so much!!! I was really hoping I would get one.  Grin He made my night!

The Beatles got their name on a play of the word describing the insects, Beetles. This fabric has some cool beetles on it. Bunny1 has already seen the fabric, just not the finished product.

Project Name: Learning to Crochet
Project Link:
Brief Description: I really hope this counts because it took me about two and a half hours to do. I took a class at Michaels to learn to crochet. No one showed up to teach the first class, then a month later when we finally were able to schedule they were doing inventory so we had to do it in the back where the lights were on timers and it kept going out on us. Then the instructor didn't have the pattern, and finally told us we needed to come back to learn how to finish it. Yeah, and pay another $25. I don't think so.

Project Name: Steampunk Pendants
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I made these pendants in an attempt to create something steampunk-ish in honor of my favorite Engineer Henry Davis, who streamlined the Steam Engine. Steam punk...steam engine...trains. I was also inspired by Bunny1Kenobi who likes Steampunk but I am not positive on her feelings for trains. The inside light greenish layer glows in the dark.  Wink Oh, and I was determined to do something that wasn't sewn or drawn this month.  Grin
