11  Dictionary Pendants in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: July 10, 2015 07:09:20 AM
I tried to make the dictionary text pendants but I don't think I sprayed the large one with enough sealer. It's okay cas that was the one for myself. I wasn't sure if anyone else was as proud of their cat lady status as I am.  Tongue

I still think it looks interesting. It has a more vintage and aged feel to it. Yeah, that's what I will go with.  Wink
I used dictionary pages printed on cardstock and Distressing ink.

 Thanks for looking.  Grin

12  Glowing Star & Steampunk Pendants in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: July 10, 2015 07:01:29 AM
I recently finished up the Pendant swap and wanted to share what I made.
A while ago I made couple Steampunk Pendants out of Sculpey and decided to try it with another shape so I chose Stars!

The backgrounds glow in that dark but I couldn't get a decent picture of it.
Here are the ones I made earlier. They glow too.

I tried tinting them with chalk but in the end likes the look of alcohol inks better on them.

13  Birdhouse Pendants in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: July 10, 2015 06:52:41 AM
I always want to wear more necklaces in the summer since I don't have a scarf covering them up. I joined the pendant swap this round and this is one of the designs I decided to try. I have always loved the birdhouse pendants but thought cutting the roofs would be cumbersome and a pain. I found the squares with holes and pegs at Michaels and decided to try using Sculpey to make the roof. I think it turned out pretty cute and saved my fingers from some unwanted bloodletting.
 Here are the fronts

 and the backs

I love the look of Dictionary pages in artwork and wanted to use inspirational and nice words on them.

While I was doing the clear coat I realized what this one said on the back. It was completely random so it made it so much funnier to me. Yes, It reads "beat a person" in bold text no less.  Roll Eyes

Here's a shot of how I made them taller. I glued, painted and sanded them before adhering the dictionary pages.

Thanks for checking them out. I had a lot of fun making them and suspect a couple family members might get some for Christmas.

15  Books and Cats in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: July 06, 2015 08:18:49 AM
Remember that commercial where the pig goes "and boots and pants and boots and pants....." I think of it and say books and cats every time I see this fabric. LOL!
I made this purse as my quick weekend outing purse. I can just throw a couple thing in it and go instead of digging thru all the day to day stuff I carry around.
I had to have this fabric when I saw it. It's so dorky and I love it. Books and cats. Two things I love and can't live without. Add in a little sewing and it pretty much sums me up. Big ol' nerd.

I was cropping the pic of the back and laughed when I realized my black cat Dahl had stuck her nose in. She's black so you have to look hard at the black chair. She camouflages well.  Wink

Here in an in progress shot of the inside pocket.

and just one to show off my other cat, Venkman.  Tongue

 Thanks for looking!  Grin

Brief Description: I made these last month and held on to them in case there was a prompt they would fit and wa-la. There is one! I would normally chose aliens because I am ALL about aliens but the gears and sprockets of a robot worked for these pendants.

Project Name:
Project Link:  I will add the post once the swap is complete and add the Community Bonus then as well.
Brief Description: I joined the Miniature swap and my first attempt was to make some gourmet cookies for my partners Monster High and Blyth dolls. I got a template for the box and added the Cheshire cat to it as well with Photoshop since she likes Alice in Wonderland. I cooked the little chocolate chips first and it took a lot of patience (in which I have little) to get the box to stay glued. I chalked over the cookies to give them a baked look. All in all, not that bad for my first attempt I don't think.

Project Name: Miniature potted flowers
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: Super quick project. I am in the miniature scene swap (it's totally kicking my butt) and after working for hours on a project that didn't pan out I refused to go to bed without something so I threw this together for my sanity.  Tongue I used a thimble for one and a painted wooden candle holder (that's what they were called Huh) for the other. Stuck some tiny fabric flowers in with a touch of moss and viola! I could go to bed.  Wink After I took the picture I realized I needed to dust my shelves. Sorry.
