Prompt: Battle - Past
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: 1968 Shirt
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: Not so long ago in the past my bestie was born.  Grin I think we all know who this is by now. LOL! I made this for her birthday that is not to far away. Her stenciled shirts are way better than mine but I try.  Wink  The shirt is more of a corral than as pink as it looks on my screen. I finger painted the stencil on to give it a worn out, vintage feel.

Prompt: 60's Flower Child
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Book page roses
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I have always loved paper and wooden flowers. I found this tutorial on line and when we switched offices my co-worker gave me his old Dictionary and Thesaurus. I knew I had to try these. The backs are not that pretty but I think the fronts turned out nice. I want to make some more where you use distressing ink on the tips of the petals. That will be my next set. Originally I wanted to make a wreath but my sister bought me one so now I am thinking of making a centerpiece that my cat won't eat.

Prompt: 80's Fashionista
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Librocubicularist Shirt
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: This is me. I read in bed, know I shouldn't but oh well.  Tongue I drew out the design of the book on the pillow myself so hopefully everyone can tell what it is. The shirt is more oatmeal colored than white but I think the flash drained the color. There is a close up of the stencil so you can see the book drawing better. Hopefully it sets a little more when I wash it. This is a clothing item. They wore shirts in the 80's.  Wink

Prompt:  Red Alert! Lucky Charms
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: I'M CRAFTY
Project Name: Scrappy St. Paddy's Bracelets
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I made these two bracelets at the beginning of the month for my Mom and me. My Dad is the kind of guy who will pinch you.  Wink I was trying to keep us safe. I'M CRAFTY because I used a very talented Craftster members tutorial for these. LesliesHappyHeart. Grin She shows you how to make these on her site and they are a lot of fun to make and turn out so cute.

Prompt: March - Roaring 20's
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Black Cat Microwavable Bowl Holder
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: Cats roar! I made this microwavable bowl holder for myself after I used one of the ones I made my parents last month. It really works for hot soup when the weather outside is so cold. I had this fabric in my stash and I love it because it's a black cat. I have a black cat that roars at me all the time. Plus, it was made by a woman and we all know a woman can roar.  Wink

Prompt: March - 40s Homemaker
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Blue and Green Microwavable Bowl Holders
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: My Mom showed her best friend the microwavable bowl holders that I made her and she asked for some too. She wanted 2 blue and 2 green. I hope she lives these. She has been my Moms bestie for years and is like family to us and it's for her home.
Project Picture:

Prompt: March - Flash Mob - Decade you were born
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: 70's Hippy Microwavable Bowl Holders
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: My local bestie asked what I was up to and I sent her a pic of the bowl holders I had made my Mom's friend that day. She immediately put in an order for one. I made her 2. Pretty sure I will end up making her a couple more.  Wink I bought this fabric years ago. I had no idea what to do with it but absolutely thought it was the cutest. My friend loves the color orange and leaves and trees. This fabric has a tree hugger hippie feel to it I think. Hence the 70's when I was born.

Hello All! I got two amazing cards from ArtsyCandice. These were supposed to go in the January gallery but I am putting them here so more people can see them.  Cool
The first is a super cool felted "Whimsical Tree". I think this card is so neat! I love the style, colors and textures. It's all around awesome!

And I got a bonus card! A dapper little bluebird holding a key. I love his paintbrush in his hat!

Thank you so much ArtsyCandice!!! Grin

crazyda79 adorable turtle. Did you name it that? Clever and cute.

Wiccadwitch Whoa. You have a huge fan in me. I love your work. Your mermaid is beautiful. I love the motion that you captured. Fantastic shading too. I have some Spicas that I love to touch up the eyes with on occasion. Wink

Kwality570 That bird is amazing. I know you wanted to break away from your monsters (which I covet) and you did it beautifully. I love the style and subjects you tackled this round. The bird is fantastic. Love the polka dot background and the textured wood of the circle and the almost tattoo style of the bird. Seamless blending too. I cant wait to see more of this type of art from you!

And here is another piece for everyone to gush about. I received this from mouseatethekitty yesterday. It is absolutely perfect for me. She said she hopes I like cats. Sorry, no. I LOVE them.  Kiss  I am currently decorating a kitchen wall with whimsy and I happen to have a very dapper rabbit thanks to kwality570 there already. This will fit right in! Love the shading and composition of this piece. The hands are fantastic too. All the details from his buttons to his sword to the boat in the background wonderful! PS. I love gray scale drawings too.  Grin
Thank you so much! This swap has been amazing!!

Sorry I haven't been on this board much. My life has been so hectic lately. I am going to have to go back thru and check it all out again because its so wonderful!
I got a fantastic card from Blupaisan. She did my woodland creature theme and she included a very cute bunny, which I love.
The animals have such great expressions, like they are hatching a plan!

Thanks Blupaisan! I love the card.  Grin

Snow Day!!! And I have actually been productive today (reading counts).

Prompt: February - Basket Case
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: Stash
Project Name: Microwavable Bowl Holders
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I have seen these for a while and wanted to make them for my parents My Dad requires TWO bowls whenever he eats something hot or cold to protect his hands. It drives my Mom bonkers This should fix it! I used the 100% cotton batting I had left over from the quilt I had made him for Christmas. The fabric was found in one of my tubs I was going thru. My Mom loves batiks. They could also be used as a basket to hold anything else if they wanted.  Wink  PS. Using the quilting stuff I bought/had for the quilt also made this project really easy to do!

First up, apologies. I feel like I have been neglecting this board! I will comment later today. I have been fighting with the mortgage company all day. Ugh. They swear everything is on track now. We will see. BUT I wanted to get these projects in before the end of the month and the Winter Games. And before the 4-7 inches of snow they are now predicting for me tomorrow.  Cry

Prompt: February - Paint the Town
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: Stash!
Project Name: Happy Octopus
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: This was for the 4x6 Swap. I have no idea who got it but they got it today so I assume I am okay in posting up here. I used the Inktense pencils on fabric this time and these little water tube paint brush thingys to paint it into the fabric. Wanted to try something new and experiment a little. This was my first attempt to paint on fabric with them. They become permanent. I heat set it with an iron too. I frayed the edges for a fun carefree feel. It is sewn onto two pieces of cardstock to keep it sturdy. I used the inktense pencils that I got at Christmas and scrap fabric.
Project Picture:

Prompt: Dye me a River
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: Stash!
Project Name: Seahorse
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: This was made by using the Inktense pencils on fabric again. I liked the effects on the first one better. This fabric absorbed it too much and it didn't get that water color type feel that I liked on the octopus. The intense pencils are solid ink that turn to liquid when wet - so ink! Should have put the Octopus in this category because he can actually ink. LOL!

for his birthday I made him some sleeping bags to go in the bunker house of the new addition. He gave me some blatant hints that he wanted these.

It's been crazy here and I will try to comment on everything tomorrow! Just wanted to get this in before I forget. I feel so behind this month!

Prompt: February - Battle - Paper
Team: Wordy!!
Bonus Points: Stash
Project Name: ATC's
Project Link: -
Brief Description: I love to sew and to draw so this was a toss up for me. But when times are tight or I am bored I find myself searching for some PAPER to doodle on. I did these ATCs for the ATC swap. The first is of a Highland Cow (you should look them up, they are adorable!), a plague doctor for bunny1kenobi, and a portrait of kosmicgirl.
