I added some lightweight patchwork scarves in my shop. I made these last year and forgot the lengths. I will add that tomorrow.

4  Halloween Purse 2016 in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: September 19, 2016 06:17:55 AM
It's almost time for the barrage of holidays to descend upon us. I have been carrying the same purse for a while now and wanted to try a new pattern out. I ordered fabric but it went missing, delivery issue. I was itching to sew so I decide to do a practice run of the pattern first with some Halloween themed fabrics to get in the Halloween spirit.

This was my first time trying the twist lock. The type I bought was super easy to install. Ridiculously easy. Highly recommend anyone nervous to do them to just take the plunge. You'll be shocked at how easy it is. My wall is blue and my shadow is in the shot, sorry. I wanted to show the length of the strap.

The fabric is eyeballs with coordinating stripes and a hot pink interior.

The sides called for snaps to expand it.

I am used to thicker interfacing so I was nervous about this one. It called for SF 101 and some medium weight sew in. I think it worked out well though. I liked the swivel clip details too. It holds a lot and is comfortable on my arm.  Grin

I'll carry this one until November. I had fun sewing it up. The pattern is the Notting Hill Bag by SusieDDesigns. I got it on Etsy.
Thanks for checking it out!!! Cheesy

I thought I would be almost done with my RP but alas, nope. The rebate card I was planning to buy shelving with is passed due (and the company is clueless on what to do about it) and the paint job on the room took forever! The trim was varnished and I deglossed twice and had to sand some spots. Then the person helping me taped up the room while the paint was still tacky and after I did all the trim and took the tape off most of the paint came with it. Cry  My house is in disarray but finally, after 4 days of working on it, Day 5 was the charm for the paint. Oh, did a mention my shag type carpet and having to pull it back to paint baseboards? Roll Eyes  Ugh. But last night I stood back and looked at it and was very pleased. Now I just need my rebate card so I can buy shelving and tubs and start boxing up all my junk!  Cheesy
PS. the room is only 9X10 1/2 but looks so much larger now that the dark trim and paint is gone. I can't wait to see this project completed. Here is an In Progress shot. The new wall color is actually a pale lavender (Behr Opera is you're curious). Next the the brownish color is looked white. I was really iffy until the very end.

and here is a sampling of the trim mishap. I almost cried.

Next up: shelves, tubs, and new shade, curtain, and curtain rod. I am debating a new light fixture. It's going to be a storage room so I don't want to put too much money into it.
