1  Frankenstein & Skulls Halloween Purses in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: October 21, 2014 01:20:39 PM
I kept saying I was going to make myself a purse. As long as I have been attempting to make them I have never carried one that I made. I always give them away. At the beginning of the month I was going on a trip to Vegas with my Dad and decided it was time to do it and make one that would travel well. I have made this pattern more than a few times and I still have one more request for it so it will be made one more time, but it really is a great pattern.
Here is my Halloween bag for October and probably for the rest of the year too.
 Frankenstein!

on the back is the Bride of Frankenstein. Sorry for the sloppy shot. I have been using the purse for about 4 weeks now and I just took a quick shot to post it up.

I also made one for Bunny1kenobi for the IYP swap. We met up in Vegas and actually got to meet which was beyond awesome! I knew her right away because she was carrying the bag I made for her!

I added zippers to the tops of both of these so they are a bit different than the others that just had the magnetic closure.
Thanks for looking and I promise after this next one I will find a new pattern.  Tongue

Prompt: October Haunted House
Team: Wordy!

Project name : Skull Splatter
Project Link: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=436319.0
Brief description : I wanted to try a different kind of drawing. Not so rigid as I normally do. I had this idea of doing a line drawing and then using water color over it. I did the drawing and then water colored but it needed more so I took out my spray inks and gave it a couple squirts. I used green and teal sprays. I thought it had a kind of creepy look to it.  Smiley

3  Skull Splatter in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by gozer on: October 21, 2014 05:39:08 AM
I wanted to try something a little bit different. I had this idea of doing a line drawing and water coloring loosely over it. I never watercolor so I was just winging it. I chose a skull to get in the spirit of the season. After I finished the line drawing and water coloring I thought it needed more so I brought out the spray inks and gave it a couple squirts with both green and a teal. I think the teal has a shimmer to it which I liked.
The skull isn't perfect. This was more of an experimental piece. I also used a brush pen for the inking instead of a regular pen for a more organic feel.

Thanks for checking it out! Grin

Prompt: October -No Bones About It
Team: Wordy!
Bonus Points: n/a
Project Name: Halloween Skirt
Project Link: n/a
Brief Description: I haven't worn a skirt in years. About 7 to be honest. Last week on a whim I bought a pattern and decided I was making one for myself. I don't normally make clothes for myself from patterns and learned that the measurements on there are all out of whack. I was able to reconstruct the skirt into something I liked better than the pattern though so I think my mess up was a win.
I plan to wear black tights with it so the world doesn't have to see my double chin knees. LOL!

Here is a close up of the fabric, hence the "no bones about it".

Project Name: Frankenstein Bag
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description:  I tried to get as many "Frankenstein" s in there as possible. This fabric has a lot of text on it so I thought it was prefect for this prompt.

Prompt:  October - Hocus Pocus

Bonus Points:
Project Name: Aesop's Clock
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: Aesop's Fables has a lot of myths built into them. I used the book as the base to make my Mom a clock. It will be one of her Christmas gifts. I like the way the fox is looking up at the clock hands. I am not sure if I am going to paint he hands though. They don't seem like they show up well enough for me, but in certain lights they do...

Prompt: October - Graveyard Shift
Team: Wordy!
Bonus Points:
Project Name: Bacon Pillowcase
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: Obviously pillows are used to sleep with.  Wink I made this for my step-son. He is 11 and loves everything "bacon". He is also at that stage where he wants to be grown and not have kiddy stuff so I put the bacon as the accent strip instead of the whole pillowcase. I thought the black made it look more manly.

7  Luna the Lady in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by gozer on: September 23, 2014 07:10:22 AM

This was done for Suereal in the IYP swap. I also did her other dog Cosmo as a gentleman.
This one is Luna the Lady. She wanted her dog to be anthropomorphic Steampunk characters. I think Luna has some sass.  Smiley I cut her out and raised her from the background for a more dimensional effect. I have never done someone's animal before so I was intimidated. Much less switch them around so much. I really hope she likes them. I sent them to her parents home so she hasn't seen them up close yet.

 Thanks for looking! Grin

8  Cosmo the Gentleman in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by gozer on: September 23, 2014 07:06:04 AM

I made this piece for Suereal in the IYP swap. She asked for her dogs in an anthropomorphic style as Steampunk people. I have never done anything like this before so I was really intimidated to even try it but I think it turned out neat. I hope she likes them. They were sent to her parents house so she hasn't actually seem them close up yet.
I cut them out and posted them on the background to give them a bit of depth. They were done in Copic markers. Cosmo was in warm gray and the rest in a neutral gray.

 Thanks for looking!
