1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Old Mattress and Box Spring? on: October 27, 2007 05:15:30 PM
Attach wooden legs to the bottom of the box spring and recover the mattress and box spring to make a couch/daybed

I'd make a collage on magnets so you can take it with you when you go and won't ruin the fridge
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: An old large map of the Caribbean on: October 27, 2007 05:06:36 PM
I just saw a show on HGTV where they attached a map to a roll up window shade.  It looked pretty cool, but I'm not sure what kind of glue to use.

Other than that, one of my favorite bars has maps on the tabletops under many layers of polyurethane.

I use pretty vintage handkerchiefs as gift wrapping for small presents and tie it up with satin ribbon.
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Clutch Purse with Birds on: October 27, 2007 04:54:29 PM
I found this great fabric last week while on a business trip.  I used Butterick 4756.

I used a magnetic snap...

...and lined the inside with the same fabric

The only bad thing is that you can see the plastic lining through the front of the bag.

What do you think?
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Leaf Necklace on: October 27, 2007 04:48:13 PM
I found this leaf made out of a shell in a bead store in New York.  I strung it on some brown and black suede.  I think it's appropriate for the season.

7  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Re: Halloween Office! (img heavy) on: October 27, 2007 04:47:46 PM
I think the bloody wall is my favorite!

It reminds me of snow white for some reason
9  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Looking for tried & true crab cakes recipe on: October 27, 2007 04:42:43 PM
You wouldn't believe it, but I say that the best and simplest crab recipe comes from the back of the old bay can!

I like to make corn on the cob to go along with it.  Smiley
