11  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / What is this quilt called? on: December 22, 2008 12:00:42 AM
I know this isn't a traditional quilt... Its actually one I saw in a store and its vintage napkins and hankies. What I am wondering is what are the quilts called with the embroidered ladies with the fabric skirts that you can lift up... you know that are added to look like a dress... Huh If anyone can help me find a pattern or tell me what they are called that would be GREAT!!!

17  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Pin Up with telephone = Tea Towel on: September 22, 2008 04:46:14 AM
I made this for the lovely Katiekutthroat in a personal swap that we did! This pattern is one of my favorites that I have... why? I don't know, I guess the telephone... and the way she is standing with her fab hat on... I used 6 strands on the hat... it seems so BULKY... Many people use 6 strands but it was too much for me. but anyways... the rest I used 3-4 I believe! the lips and eyes I used 1-2... hhmmm what else... I added ric rac on the bottom. and yup thats pretty much it! I love her and was sad to see her go!!! more info on my blog.

I embroidered it onto felt... used a pattern that is no longer available on flickr.... and... thats about all... It was a lot harder then i thought I've never stitched something that small and detailed.... anyways here it is...

19  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / 40's Vintage Lettuce Girl pot holder for amyracinrose on: August 28, 2008 10:45:14 PM
I am not sure its 40's vintage but that is what it looks like.... anyways.... So I am sssooo happy when I found out amyracinrose was my swap partner for the Vintage Apron Swap! Super excited because I always LOVE everything she makes !! So when I went looking for stuff to make her I found the PERFECT pattern on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/claudiamarchan/2654938592/ (Claudia Marchan gave the pattern!) Thank you!! I blew it up to the size I wanted, I used back stitch, split stitch, satin stitch, and a few french knots! I also stitched it with the batting attached and then got this "special" batting that is for potholders and oven mitts that has foil insulation in it. anyways hope you guys like because I am in love with it and amyracinrose said she loves it too!!! YAY!

I finally got a sulky transfer pen and i am IN LOVE!
