1  Colette Pattern Sencha in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by BrookOwens on: January 18, 2010 03:27:30 PM
Made this with a new Colette pattern http://www.colettepatterns.com/shop Sencha.... It turned out okay but I think it would be better if it was made with silky material....  but regardless for a first try I thought it turned out pretty well. Just wish it was longer... The way you put it on is from the buttons from the back... thats what sold me... so vintage! LOVES IT! Can't wait to make the dresses from Colette... Lovely!
Tell me what you think! (Dont mind my messy hair... its POURING here in So. cali... )

3  Leopard pillbox hat in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by BrookOwens on: December 27, 2009 10:10:21 PM
I am not sure where this goes... SO I started making cocktail hats and this was my first one. I wore it to a craft show I did in a bar. I didn't get too many good pictures of it since I was of course drinking at this craft show at a bar Smiley but I think you get the idea. its a buckram frame and I covered it on cheetah fur stuff from joanns... I also added a leopard bow in the back but you cant see that in this pic... eehh... I need to take better pics of it!
You can read more about it on my blog.

4  Candy cane girl.... Simplicity 2591 in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by BrookOwens on: December 10, 2009 11:45:03 PM

Hi First time posting in this section soooo be easy on me people! I was super excited to make this dress. I got the fabric from Ikea of all places and was totally loving it.... then I sewed the front and held it up to me.... instantly I was like " Fuuuuuuuuu** I look like I work at Rubys!!!!" which of course I sort of did...

then my lovely grandma reminded me that Washington doesnt have Rubys so when I was on my vacation I wore it. While walking through Pike Market a vendor called me "Candy cane girl..." Seriously? NOOO but despite all that I love it. It fits wonderfully and the way its sewn on the bodice sides is really flattering also the stripes go down not across.... I didn't add the little button part in the front but oh well. tell me what you guys think!!!

5  True Love Forever Tattoo Flash in Needlework: Completed Projects by BrookOwens on: February 08, 2009 04:55:37 PM
So I made this for one of Lily's squares for a quilt she will eventually make.... I love the way it turned out! I used a bunch of satin stitching! There is still some solvy stuck between the super detailed parts but all she has to do is wash it!

Check my blog for more info!!!

6  Sailor Jerry Rise and Shine Pin Up NSFW(sort of) in Needlework: Completed Projects by BrookOwens on: January 22, 2009 08:27:35 PM
So I am doing a swap on flickr and I am making a quilt with all the squares everyone stitches on. Here is the quilt square I made for myself!! SewSewagogo rocked it for the TTT4 swap for sewphie and it made my heart swoon so I knew I had to be a copycat and do it as well!!! Besides I think its fitting for a quilt " Rise and Shine" you sleep with quilts... etc... WOW I am lame... anyways here it is!

I did chain stitch for the first time!! Thanks to the video tutorials!! It was really fun!

Here is the original print http://www.flickr.com/photos/13303216@N03/2211107579/

7  Japanese Christmas Deer in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by BrookOwens on: December 23, 2008 12:24:02 PM
I made this for a personal swap I was in with Amyracinrose. She loves girlie colors and deer. This little guy was made from a Japanese book I recently got. Its called "Mascot Album" its out of print and I paid an arm and a leg for it... but it was so worth it!!! I added some of my own touches... I added detachable antlers so she can have them on or remove them if she wants!

9  NAUGHTY deer ornaments egg diorama!! in Winter Holidays by BrookOwens on: December 23, 2008 12:10:08 PM
Okay so these are when cute crafts GONE WILD!!! These are egg shells... I used to make these as a kid....  I am having a little obsession with deer at the moment. At first they were just so stinking adorable. I colored the mini bottle brush trees a light green, painted the inside of the eggs aqua blue and the outside light light pink! I added some glitz and then added some mini deer... HOW FREAKING CUTE! Topped it off with some fake snow and a ribbon! THEN.... They made a turn for the worst!! hahaha  Shocked

Here are some of the G rated ones

10  What is this quilt called? in Quilting: Discussion and Questions by BrookOwens on: December 22, 2008 12:00:42 AM
I know this isn't a traditional quilt... Its actually one I saw in a store and its vintage napkins and hankies. What I am wondering is what are the quilts called with the embroidered ladies with the fabric skirts that you can lift up... you know that are added to look like a dress... Huh If anyone can help me find a pattern or tell me what they are called that would be GREAT!!!
