1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: Heart Garland! on: March 10, 2011 09:38:11 AM

Your heart garland is great!

We made one too -- the best part was machine sewing the hearts in a string!

Bookmarks! What a greata idea! I've been thinking of all sorts of things I could sandwich into these things -- fabric scraps, scrapbooking scraps, confetti, glitter, etc!

Using this tutorial -- http://www.modabakeshop.com/2009/05/picnic-for-two.html -- we made a placemat today! I had another project I wanted to work on so kept my boy busy cutting out his sharks!

Sewing on the plastic/vinyl was a little tricky, but it was also very fun! The second picture shows a bit more of the sewing/stitching detail.

Great idea for using little scraps of pretty fabric! This would be a good way to organize/color code lots of keys. Thanks for sharing!
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: two new hipster purses on: September 30, 2009 10:09:16 AM
mhills -- I attached the straps during the first step of sewing around all the raw edges. I put them in at an angle, but I don't know that it makes much difference.

Using the basics from the easy peasy wallet tutorial and adding a few inches, I made two hipster purses today -- one for my sister and one for me! (The easy peasy wallet tutorial is here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=187229.0.) I used a couple different sized Tupperware lids for the curves. I like them -- what do you think?

This last picture is an "in the process" shot, but it shows the Tupperware curves!
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Embroidered Cards - my own designs on: September 26, 2009 09:58:59 AM
Very nice and I love your designs! Do you think you can draw up a Christmasy design for my cards this year? Smiley
8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Crazy patch taggy quilt on: September 07, 2009 08:28:14 AM
That is so cute! I'm sure the recipient will love it!

Can you explain how you "crazy patched" it? Are the pieces sewn together or are they wonder-undered onto another fabric? Either way, I love the stitching over the seams!
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Glass Block Lamp ??? on: September 06, 2009 04:38:47 PM
Here's a good and helpful tutorial for making the glass blocks: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=140603.0
