1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Ideas for a quilt for friends adopting from Ethiopia on: January 28, 2009 08:56:07 AM
I have good friends who are hoping to go get their little man from Ethiopia in a few months. I'd like to make them a quilt with some embroidery squares.  I don't want to do the typical baby squares, but want to do something cool involving maybe travel or different cultures.  Any ideas on what patterns or images might be good for this.  I'd like to do maybe a total of 6 embroidered patterns. Thanks in advance for your ideas!
2  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / "Blanky's" for the kids - my first posting of a project! on: August 29, 2008 09:38:08 PM
I've been embroidering using Jenny's patterns for about a year now, but here is my first post.  My son liked to carry around a tea towel for a blanky when he was a baby.  He outgrew it, but as he's watched embroider more, he requested a new one.  Then of course the girl decided she needed one too.  I got these what I think are larger napkins or hanky's at the second hand store and I let the kids choose their patterns and colors.  Here are the final products.

3  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Greek Zucchini on: August 05, 2008 07:40:24 AM
So, I'm trying out different ways to cook the gazillion zucchini that are being produced in my garden.  I'm pureeing the big ones for cakes and soup.  But, oh, what to do at dinner time??

One night, I fried up diced zucchini in some butter on the stove and when it was cooked to my liking (crunchily cooked), I tossed it with some feta cheese.  Honestly, it was the best tasting Zucchini I've ever eaten.

Just wanted to share this easy way to enjoy this great veggie - I was thinking fresh parmesean or any fresh cheese tossed with it would be divine.  Can't wait to make it again!  Enjoy!
