I haven't posted in a while... This week I got over a slump that lasted about 2 and a half weeks in which I couldn't seem to make my self sit down to spin at all. I guess it was a combination of busy-ness with other things I needed to do, and a lack of inspiration. Anyways, here is one of the ones I never posted in Sept., the ones I spun this week, and a couple of FOs/almost FOs made with handspun!

Icicle -  "Twists" yarn, handspun with my "Air Element" inspired July Loop SSB Club Batt.
Contains alpaca & sparkle & other such nummyness! Approx. 34 yds, 3.8 oz.

Age of Aquarius -  Single spun from Hobbledehoy's Aquarius batts, contains merino & sparkle. Approx. 240 yds, 3 oz.

Galileo! -  Single spun from Cloudlover's Galileo batt... contains merino, glitz, sari silk, silk noil & angora. Approx. 160 yds, 2.5oz.

Autumn Dragon Scarf & Calorimetry - Knit with my "Autumn Approaches" yarn.

Evening Dragon Scarf - (Yes I really love the pattern, this one is for me the first is a gift)
Knit with my Black Amber yarn. It is actually more finished than this picture it only needs to be blocked now.

I painted some celtic knotwork onto my wheel Smiley I really love how it turned out...
it adds just a little touch of specialness.

Happy Fiber Friday!!!

Happy Fiber Friday & Holiday Long Weekend!!!

I haven't had a lot of fiber time this week Sad working the early shift is quite draining Tongue
I spun only one yarn that took me several nights to finish.

Inspired by Cloudlover's "Waves become Wings" yarn, I had to try out the technique. Handspun from Hobbledehoy's LOLbatts & Ecru merino from my stash then plyed with a varigated polyester thread in green, orange & brown. It reminded me very much of how I have issues when using thread to ply. I added some coils occasionally & tryed out the supercoil technique at the end for a little bit. It is very bouncy & squishy & the skein looks huge (to me).

Autumn Approaches  Approximately 242 yds 3.9 oz.

Welcome to the Swamp! - single spun hand-painted BFL roving from Cloudlover

Good Morning & Happy Fiber Friday!  Cheesy

I took last weekend off as a mini 5 day holiday and planned on spinning and dyeing the whole time... of course that didn't happen & we ended up spending several days reorganizing the house  Tongue but I did get a few things done first. I finished up spinning some cashmere for a friend... yikes that stuff is fine... I spent a few hours dyeing... & I knit a new tea cozy with some of my handspun!

Cashmere - approx 148 yds of 2-ply, 1.1 oz

Here are a couple of my dye pix, close-ups are on my flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/jadzeea-knits/

Superwash Merino/Nylon

Crazy Cozy knit with corespun singles, spun from TerraBellaSpun "Totally Loaded" batts

Hope you have a great Friday! off to work for me  Roll Eyes

I have 3 this week Smiley

My Loop SSB Club July Butterfly batt

8  Re: Fiber Friday 7-25-08 - Tour de Whoops! Edition in Spinning: Completed Projects by Jadzy on: July 25, 2008 01:31:52 PM
Always such pretty yarns Smiley I look forward to Friday to see them every week!
Lufah - Love Tropic of Cancer & Battacular!
the noodle princess - <3 the tea party!

I have two this week Smiley

"Rainbows"  made from 6 baby cakes from Loop. The package just screamed rainbow at me Tongue
It is approximately 144 yds of 2-ply & 3.1 oz. It would not fit back onto a single bobbin when plyed & has encouraged me to finally buy a jumbo flyer Smiley (Which arrived the day after I payed for it... that's great service!)

This is my fave pic of the spin in progress!

This is a 2-ply + thread yarn spun with "Jay" handpainted BFL roving from Cloudlover69. We have lots of Steller Jays around here... they are really loud at times and can be funny to watch. This is my first yarn spun with the new jumbo flyer (and I was so excited that it would all fit on one bobbin!)  Approx. 132 yds, 4.25 oz.

Happy Friday!

I only have a few this week. I spun up a set of batts from Hobbledehoy called Whoa Nelly!
I haven't had a chance to set the twist yet.

These are the batts

My pictures aren't great this morning Tongue but you get the idea Wink
3 oz, approx. 82 yds, 71 yds & 98 yds.

I need a jumbo flyer! My bobbins fill up way too fast.

Happy Fibre Friday!

I spun Iridesence from a Loop batt of the same name! I love it, Black Alpaca & Firestar... so soft Smiley

From TerraBellaSpun's Pepper Garden set of batts, I spun a single (bottom) from the first one and 2 corespun yarns from from the second.  approx. 57 yds 1.05 oz, 53 yds 1.05 oz & 134 yds 1.3 oz.

And from a hand-dyed BFL roving from Cloudlover I spun this lovely single! I love spinning with her BFL Smiley
approx 273 yds. 4.25 oz
