51  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / My Very Own Sewing Room on: October 25, 2007 07:27:22 AM
Months ago, in an attempt to create a little haven for myself, I'd rendered our middle bedroom unusable. I had ripped out the old carpeting, and punched a hole in the wall, and then got stuck on some electrical work, and left it for months and months.

Until this weekend. My man went to NYC for the weekend, and I took the chance to finish what I'd started.

Here are the before shots... It's not in colour, but then again, there was no colour in that room to begin with so...

And here are the after shots:

Some details:

Once it was all done, I was even surprised at how girlie it had turned out. I was worried about my man's reaction, but he's just happy that I have found a spot in the house that's just for me.

There are still a couple of things left to do, like reupholster the reading chair and trim out the closet door, but it's such a difference from how it was, and I absolutely love it!!

Wow. We were thinking of doing the same for our living room, but using faux and spray-painting it to look like copper.... However, for $300.00, even if our space is triple yours, it's still worth it, rather than messing with an imitation!!!

Thanks!

These are so great. I desperately want to make some for my boyfriend, who's a bike messenger and needs to keep warm while not keeping TOO warm. I think they'd be perfect!!

Nice and cozy looking, too!!
