1  Watermelon Cookies in Dessert by samurii on: October 03, 2009 11:50:27 PM
So its coming on Summer here in Australia and i thought these cookies would be appropriate!

I didn't think they would look as good as they did seeing as tho i had never tried them before

Hope you like them!

If you look closer there are little bites taken out of the watermelon... fondant is hard to deal with when the weather is warm n it was pretty floppy so the bites were a pain Sad

2  ADULTS ONLY hens night cupcakes and KAWAII HELLO KITTY cupcakes EnJoY in Dessert by samurii on: September 21, 2008 01:58:36 PM
So this weekend i ended up making 5 batches of cupcakes... here are two of them.

First one.. Naming Day cupcakes!
Vanilla cupcake with strawberry buttercream... some had lemon buttercream too i just mixed the colours everywhere so i cant remember what colour was what flavour.
but they were YUM

the colours were so awesome in real life! lol... purple does NOT ever photograph well and these photos make them look murky... but they were really lovely...
i made two toned frosting so the "brownish"looking cuppies are actually purple and orange swirl...

i made sugar flowers and strawberries and little hello kitty and my melody toppers...

I also had a hens night which was soo much fun!
making these were fun too!
chewy choc cupcakes with milk choc and dark chic ganache frosting.

7  cheesecake in Dessert by samurii on: January 28, 2008 10:15:12 PM
I made these baby cheesecakes today... i added lemon juice instead of vanilla extract... it mixed up a fair bit runnier than normal but they baked so much better...

i got the recipe from the cute little book 500 cupcakes... it seriously is so worth buying... so many ideas and variations for little cakes...

so for the pink top i just seperated the mixture and coloured it pink then piped it on and squiggled with a toothpick... piping got a bit drippy... but it turned out well...

8  my first babyshower... in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by samurii on: January 13, 2008 04:51:18 PM
so this was the first one ive actually gone too... i always thought baby showers were boring and lame...
this one wasnt...

i made this nappy/diaper cake after a friend said she saw heaps online... i seriously had never looked into it before so i didnt know they existed...

i put bottles and baby powder in the middle... jumpsuits, singles, bibs, baby wraps on and around the little nappies... i used about 52 nappies aswell...

and i wrapped baby blankets around the outside to hold the nappies together...

then topped off with a rubber ducky...

what do u think?

9  cupcakes in Dessert by samurii on: January 13, 2008 02:16:17 AM
 Grin i love cupcakes....
i love making them more than i do eating them....

i used the Magnolia Bakery cupcake recipe... vanilla... mmm

with vanilla frosting....

i made the frangipanis out of regalice (i think thats what its called) sugar icing paste mixture which STUNK
painted the inner flower with yellow petal dust...

then sprinkled the pink and orange icing with edible glitter!

they tasted soo yum!

Magnolia Bakery Vanilla Cupcake Recipe:
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
2 cups sugar
4 large eggs, at room temperature
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350.
Line two 12-cup muffin tins with paper liners; set aside.
In a small bowl, combine flours; set aside.
In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream butter until smooth and creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating until fluffy, about 3 minutes.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add dry ingredients in 3 parts, alternating with the milk and vanilla, and scraping down sides of bowl in between each addition; beat until ingredients are incorporated but do not overbeat.
Divide batter evenly among liners, filling about three-quarters full. Bake, rotating pan halfway through, until a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes.
Transfer to a wire rack to cool in tins for 15 minutes. Remove cupcakes from tins, and cool completely on rack.

i found this recipe from YUMSUGAR website...
