1  Mini Sushi Cupcakes Part II in Dessert by eggyolk on: January 02, 2009 08:55:42 PM

Last Christmas I made little bento boxes for my mom's work http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=233675.0 This year I made a giant platter for my work. And I incorporated some changes that people suggested last time I posted. Such as chocolate syrup for soy sauce. My mom suggested coloring coconut red for ginger, and coloring plain dragees orange for salmon roe.

2  Fat Cats That Kinda Stack in Knitting: Completed Projects by eggyolk on: May 09, 2008 07:33:03 PM
LOVE mochimochiland's patterns. I couldn't wait to start on her stackable cats that I wasn't paying attention and messed up the pattern so they're not flat rectangles, they're cubes. The result is my fat cats who kinda stack. The brown is supposed to be a brown tabby. I'm very allergic to cats so I don't know the different kinds. Wiki said they're stripped so I tried stripes and it said they usually have green eyes! And the other is suppose to be a gray and white cat.

4  Baby Clothes IMG HEAVY in Knitting: Completed Projects by eggyolk on: May 09, 2008 07:20:50 PM
More people having babies. My friend asked me to make "stuff" for his friend's baby. "stuff" for me meant sweater, hat, booties so I bought 7 balls of yarn. When I handed him everything he told me he thought "stuff" meant HAT. So now I am trying to burn through 4 more pink balls of yarn HAHAHAH!!!

The pink sweater is a cape that I modified from http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/babysweyokecard.htm because I suck at making sleeves - I always make them too small and I was too lazy to keep going.

The white sweater is from http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=62184.msg588576#msg588576 but I made it longer for the baby to cover her tummy.

The ever present Saarjethttp://members.home.nl/tdpj/Patronen/Bootees/Saartjes%20bootees.pdf

I have no clue where I got the pattern for the hat, but it was called Preemie hat maybe?

5  Let me see yer grill! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by eggyolk on: May 09, 2008 07:09:46 PM
I go to dental school. Because of that I have a weird obsession with teeth. Someone asked me to make a cat toy so just to be fitting... DENTURES! I couldn't understand the pattern for making the teeth, so I knitted a tube and sewed it down. And I wanted the top attached to the bottom so I used the tongue as a hinge. And I think I made the pink bases too thick. Next time I'd make them half their thickness. He liked it so much he said he wouldn't let his cats touch it.

My friend loves this Dodo. I told him it's named after him (Igor). He was so happy, he went around telling everyone to look at Igor the Dodo... So it will remain Igor the Dodo.

8  Sea Creatures Galore - I've been a busy little bee IMG HEAVY in Crochet: Completed Projects by eggyolk on: May 09, 2008 06:58:57 PM
Now that my partner from the Science is Art Swap received her package, I can post my latest FOs

Purple starfish, teal jellyfish, green kelp, yellow brain coral, dolphin, brown manta ray and brown scarf with buttons that form a seahorse are all crocheted the others will be in the knitting forum.

I can't find all the links for the patterns I used, but here are some:

I couldn't find a pattern of a seahorse I liked, so I copied April Rose's idea of making a seahorse out of buttons http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=219000.0

I adjusted calista's crochet coin purse to make it look like yellow brain coral http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=190715.0

9  Sea Creatures Galore - I've been a busy little bee IMG HEAVY in Knitting: Completed Projects by eggyolk on: May 09, 2008 06:37:03 PM
Now that my partner from the Science is Art Swap received her package, I can post my latest FOs

A nautie from a lobster, blue and yellow sea nettle, green squid and pink sea anenome are all knitted the others will be in the crochet forum.

I don't remember where I got all the patterns but the nautie is from knitty, I made up the sea anenome pattern, the sea nettle I think is an Ana Paula pattern and the green squid is called "Naughty Squid" maybe?

10  Re: The Science IS Art! swap gallery in The Swap Gallery by eggyolk on: May 09, 2008 03:40:17 PM
YAYAYAYA I got my package from TerraBella01!!! It's so fantastical I don't know what to say! And my puppy couldn't peel himself away from any of them while I was taking pictures! And she was so considerate. I'm very allergic to cats and she has two so she made sure to keep them away and wipe everything down.

The set

When I read the outside of the box and it said fragile I said oooo and now I know why! A flower vase with a handmade tooth as the base and finished off with an origami flower (which the puppy keeps trying to steal)

A photo album of all my years in dental school!

Handmade notecards AND coin purse! Exactly what I asked for!

The cutest little blowfish I ever did see

Thank you so much TerraBelle01!!!!
