Thanks to our wonderful organizer and my patient partner I was able to get a shipping extension for Monday. I had to get an extension not because my OTT wasn't ready, but because this little guy WAS ready to come home -to our home!

He's an absolute sweetie from our local shelter and he's settling in to our home nicely this evening. *whew*  He's sorta tiny, right? Grin

I'm totally not feeling clever enough to make a teaser comment on my progress, but I thought I'd share this vintage postcard I picked up. I like the cooky owl and hey, the sentiment is a good one.  Grin

44  Re: Holiday Ornament Swap Gallery (Sendouts: 12/12/08) in The Swap Gallery by mlheran on: January 05, 2009 10:42:58 AM
I was just cleaning up the photos on my computer and realized I had some close-ups of the ornaments I made for Dropkick Mick, so I thought I'd share them. They were so much fun to work on, but then, she had such great suggestions and themes it was impossible to go wrong!  Grin

Group shot (probably the most color-accurate)...

Little golden bird...

Festive elephant...

And the swanky Day of the Dead-type skull...

These are all felt with a layer of stiff interfacing sandwiched between, red machine stitching around the edges, and then embroidered with sequins and beads. Super easy yet the results are a lot of fun -I love that they can be displayed year-round- I've already started a huge pile of these ornaments for myself!  Roll Eyes

All the ornaments in this swap have been so amazing and varied, I loved it! Looking forward to next year! Wink

I had too much fun with the family this weekend and didn't get my pics up like I planned (oops), so here are the fabulous items Dropkick Mick crafted for me!!  Grin

I can't imagine a more perfect set -I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!! Owls = love! And they're so colorful -and delightfully year-round displayable! I'm still squealing with delight every time I see them!  Grin

Three sparkly owl ornaments, two delightful dishtowels, and a handful of candy canes (I didn't get any this year so it was a real treat!)...

(and yes, that's my cat looking for trouble up in the right-hand corner)

Just look at this trio -could they get any cuter?!

Thank you again, Dropkick Mick -and thank you everyone for a great swap and gallery!!  Kiss

*slinks in guiltily*  Embarrassed

I've been neglectful of this thread (and pretty much everything else in my life) ever since Thanksgiving, but I don't want to bother all you wonderful people with reasons and excuses. I wasn't able to get to the Post Office like I planned, but tomorrow -come Hell or High Water- I WILL!

Until then, dropkick mick, here is a teaser of your items waiting to be shipped!!  Grin

I have to admit, once I was able to start working on projects again I found it very therapeutic -I'll have a ton of zany new ornaments ready for next year!!

Shocked Okay, WOW, there are so many wonderful items in this swap -and here are some more!!

The talented doyouloveanapple sent me this amazing package...

A felted owl pouch, a pipecleaner chick and feathers for my kitty (or crafting!), tons of tasty treats, a handmade necklace, nifty magnets (on their own tin), and a feather fascinator!

The color is off in this pic, but you can get a hint of how amazing this needle felting technique is -I love the subtle dimension he has and the lovely little leaf! The leaf, zipper bobble, and lining are all a yummy green...

Tweet magnets -so cute!!

Again, the color is a bit wonky, but these hand-formed birds are amazing! It's a gorgeous black necklace that's just the right length, and I really love the asymmetrical placement of the birds!

And get a load of this beautiful feather fascinator comb! The colors are so much more iridescent and jewel-like in person, it really is the crowning touch -I can't wait to wear it, I think it'll make it's first appearance at the Christmas party for my husband's work!

Thank you SO MUCH doyouloveanapple, all your items are amazing and came with such wonderfully written tags (which I forgot to photograph in all my excitement  Tongue)! Thanks for spreading the love of birds!

I'm so glad you liked everything Cya, they were some really fun items to work on! By the way, the stationery was from a Japanese doujinshi artist I corresponded with a long time ago, unfortunately they no longer have an active website, but they made some pretty neat Zelda fanart.

Now on to all the amazing things Cya crafted for me!  Grin

The whole package...
[
(A wonderful pouch with handsome Link ironed on one side and an applique Triforce on the other, a cuckoo cat toy, a nice note with a wonderful drawing, lovely felt, Zelda mints (cool tin!), and an amazing Zelda bookmark!

I loved the cuckoos in Zelda long before I had chickens of my own, so this fabulous catnip-filled cat toy will probably never make it into my cat's clutches -it's far too cute!!

Some fabulous colored felt for my stash, wrapped in some awesome chicken fabric...

Here's the Triforce side of the pouch...

And the incredible Zelda bookmark (VERY handy in my household!) -PLEASE tell me that's machine cross-stiched or I will faint! Either way, it's a lovely piece of work!

Thank you SO MUCH for all the incredibly useful and awesome items, I can't wait to show off my Zelda love in style!!  Grin

I've received from the wonderful and generous redcleo!!  Grin

I'm always so in awe of people who can do such lovely and perfect piecework -I have a hard enough time trying to get garment-sized pieces to match up! The colors are wonderful and it's a great size for all my projects, thank you SO MUCH!!

And no, I will not take a better picture of the craft magazine, the holiday candle, or all the tasty treats because it will just make you all jealous and hungry (and besides, they're disappearing rapidly)!!  Wink

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
